Enjoyed this book but some bad language.
Revisado: 07-16-20
I have loved Rachel Caine's books and own quite a few. I don't know why she has chosen to put profanity in it tho. I find the use of vulgarity repulsive and wish a different choice of an expletive was used. Maybe I am old fashioned, and the language is a regular thing now days...but I still find it disturbing. The world may use the word f#*# in their everyday lives but I don't. If there had been more of it in the book, I simply would not have finished it. The story was very good and the narrators did a nice job in the reading. The disappointing part was the profanity, although it was kept to a minimum.

This story was a little slow in the beginning...but got more interesting as I kept reading....and could have partially been because I find I get a little more distracted and more interruptions when listening than I do when when reading a paper book!

Historia
From the 1920s to 1950, Georgia Tann ran a black-market baby business at the Tennessee Children’s Home Society in Memphis. The publication of Lisa Wingate’s novel Before We Were Yours brought new awareness of Tann’s lucrative career in child trafficking. Adoptees who knew little about their pasts gained insight into the startling facts behind their family histories. Encouraged by their contact with Wingate and award-winning journalist Judy Christie, who documented the stories of 15 adoptees in this book, many determined Tann survivors set out to trace their roots.

More information on a sad sad true story! To think that this went on in our country is just appalling! So sad for these children, although many had happy lives and new families. The way they were stolen and treated badly is tragic!
