Historia
Everyone gets a glow-up on social media, but for Libby Lane, it’s more than filters and cherry-picked content. Her online persona, Lillibet, is the fakest of fakes: the affluent, healthier-than-thou opposite of her glam-free life on the side of Oahu most tourists never see, cooked up by Libby and her best friends under the influence of free wine and career desperation. The phony fronting is all in good fun, until a real influencer stumbles onto the Love, Lillibet Instagram feed and starts making waves.

Laughter with wit, wisdom, friendship and love.
Revisado: 07-22-24
It’s amazing what friends can talk you into! I feel like I just finished a wild ride filled with hysterical characterizations, impossible situations, witty dialogue, true friendship and even true love. Perfect for a summer beach read if you’re not embarrassed about laughing out loud in front of strangers. Add to this the lovely island setting and a reader who is perfect for the job and you have an enjoyable experience..

Historia
Very few people know that Mark Twain wrote a major work on Joan of Arc. Still fewer know that he considered it not only his most important, but also his best work. He spent 12 years in research and many months in France doing archival work, and then made several attempts until he felt he finally had the story he wanted to tell.

Who knew?
Revisado: 06-06-23
Mark Twain has written a holy book! I was moved. It has the Mark Twain touches of funny side stories and the endless foibles of human beings, but all in all, Joan of Arc was real, holy, and beloved. France, France, France! Great food. Shooting yourself in the foot citizens!

Historia
Alice von Hildebrand is a household name to millions who know her from her countless appearances on EWTN, her many important books, and her voluminous articles and essays. But little known is the story of her life, notably the 37 years she spent at Hunter College in New York City. There, despite unceasing opposition that might have defeated even the strongest of souls, she endured with grace and devotion, leaving a mark on a generation of students through her defense of truth through persuasion, wit, and love.

Historia
Lit’s about to hit the fan. Jo Porter has had enough Little Women to last a lifetime. As if being named after the sappiest family in literature wasn’t sufficiently humiliating, Jo’s mom, ahem Marmee, leveled up her Alcott obsession by turning their rambling old house into a sad-sack tourist attraction. Now Jo, along with her siblings, Meg and Bethamy (yes, that’s two March sisters in one), spends all summer acting out sentimental moments at Little Women Live!, where she can feel her soul slowly dying.

Families - love in the midst of misunderstanging
Revisado: 12-05-22
I always wondered how the March family would fare in the modern world - with all its competing pressures. What if Jo wanted out? What if Amy really was a Narcissist? Would Marmee have the wisdom necessary to help her daughters. And what if there is a new Beth every year? Clever, laugh-out-loud funny dialog, a little romance, some real wisdom for living life today.
Also, the reader did a great job!
