The story was lost to me in the constant hardcore sex
Revisado: 02-20-24
If this were marketed correctly, as a hardcore sexual romantic novel, then it might have worked for me. I don’t mind books with the appropriate level of sex, but every single time the two main characters come together, did the author need to describe scenes in more detail than clips on Pornhub? The first book in the series was okay as the characters were being developed, but I felt like I needed to shower in the second book, and I couldn’t get through it. I thought I would NEVER say this, but if you cutout 90% of the sexual scenes, I would have liked the rest of the book.

Good story, not well read
Revisado: 10-26-20
The story is fine, but the way the story is read is absolutely bad. The annunciation is all off, and she makes the main character sound like a whinny child at times. Thankfully the next book is read by another person.

Hard to follow at times
Revisado: 08-21-20
This had the potential to be a very good story, but the recaps were extremely long and boring at times, I had trouble keeping track of the timeline. I liked most of the characters, but someone prior to my review said it was over produced, which was spot on. It reminded me of listening to The Lone Ranger on the radio as a kid back in the early 70’s. When the story moved forward with the main characters, it was generally very entertaining.

Historia
They say family always sticks together, but when you're your dad's only lifeline and the whole world - humans, dragons, and gods - wants you dead, "family bonding" takes on a whole new meaning. My name is Opal Yong-ae, and I'm in way over my head. I thought getting rid of my dad's bad luck curse would put things back to normal. Instead, I'm stuck playing caretaker to the Great Dragon of Korea. That wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn't such a jerk, or if every dragon on the planet wasn't out to kill him, or if he was my only problem.

Best in the series
Revisado: 05-13-20
The only disappointing thing about this audiobook was that I finished it too quickly. Not because it was short, but because I couldn’t stop listening. The Heartstriker series has been my favorite book series by far, with it mixture of interesting variety of dragons and mages, and I found a great mix of characters in Night Shift Dragons. The evolving relationship between Opel and her father was fantastically created. I can only hope this isn’t the last in this series, and if not, the wait won’t be too long.

Horribly arrogant lead character
Revisado: 12-30-19
I could not connect to the characters in this book. Every time the lead character kept arrogantly referring to himself by his full name, Sholto Gunn, I caught myself rolling my eyes. You could turn it into a drinking game how often he said it instead of his nickname, Hex, which was much easier to take. I’m also not sure why the characters had to change their voices so drastically when casting spells. It was a bit off putting for me. I get why some people might like this series, but it wasn’t for me, which is disappointing since I was looking forward to a long series of books to follow up with.
