Let start by saying, I generally enjoy Lisa Kleypas as an author & Rosalyn Landon as a narrator. But this just a terrible story. I did not like any of the characters. I had to stop listening at chapter 5. I just could not force myself to listen any more!

The world’s stupidest woman is described in this book. I actually could not take listening any more with time. She is shellfish. He is just a glutton for punishment. They both lack all insight into the idea a that a partner sharing his / her thoughts and feelings is a gift! That sharing thoughts and feeling happens when a person feels safe and it cannot be forced! When sharing thoughts is demanded it is taking not sharing! One of the most dysfunctional relationships ever!

I am thankful that I have free access to this title for the month. If I paid for it I would have to call for refund. The story serves up ridiculous with a side of you have “got to be kidding me”! For example, dragon semen makes a woman GLOW in this story.

If you have read one - you read them all

It’s a cute story. The narrator is great. The big downer is - all of the books in King’s series feel the same. My personal pet peeve- it ends with a cliff hanger. So to get resolution you need to read next book.
Me - I like a novel to have a beginning- middle-end. Starting new story line is just annoying!

When He Was Wicked is a nice, light, “no brainer” kind of story. Perfect for poolside reading and airplane reading. The narrator has a nice voice. I will say my favorite part of the narration was the performance of a gentleman who was drunk. It was great. Too bad he was only in one scene!

I read The Heat many years ago. The narrator was a really poor choice. The setting is southern USA - the guy sounds like he is from UK! Basically, read the book next to the pool. But don’t listen!
