This is about complexity, grief and how the decision of one impacts so many. Beautifully done.

Historia
In The Body Keeps the Score, Bessel van der Kolk transforms our understanding of traumatic stress, revealing how it literally rearranges the brain’s wiring - specifically areas dedicated to pleasure, engagement, control, and trust. He shows how these areas can be reactivated through innovative treatments including neuro feedback, mindfulness techniques, play, yoga, and other therapies.

As a Yoga Therapist this book is indispensable.
Revisado: 10-01-16
Understanding that movement is as necessary for healing as other talk therapies, gives credence and authority to what we do as Yoga Therapists. This book lays out dramatically the science behind healing of trauma and shows that our cultural beliefs may need to shift to another way to treat trauma then what we have been doing. Great read!!!

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

So engaging
Revisado: 06-22-15
One of those books that when it's over you're bummed. Historically accurate intertwined with a great story that spanned decades. Very descriptive and brought me along for the ride.

Historia
Researcher and thought leader Dr. Brené Brown offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly: to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. In Daring Greatly, Dr. Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability. Based on 12 years of research, her book argues that vulnerability is not weakness but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement, and meaningful connection.

Great info!
Revisado: 03-12-15
This is a great book full of great information. My only comment is the reading was done in the format of a novel. The voice inflections were hard to follow for me, since this book was more for information than to follow a storyline with characters.
