It is hard to come up with any criticism for Clive Cussler. I have read every one of his books and wait with anticipation any and all upcoming books. I have found in the past, any author who puts out any large volume of books (ie Janet Evanovich, (RIP) Robert Parker etc) water their stories down just to publish something. Not so with Mr. Cussler. All series, be it Dirk Pit, the Oregon crew, Isaac Bell are fresh exciting and just plain fun to read (or should I say listen to). Possibly it is the collaboration of the several co-authors that keeps the adventures going with new ideas, I do not know, but whatever the recipie, it works.
Scott Brick has got to be the best narrator out there and the partnership between author and narrator really makes it a great listen.
I realize that this review is a bit broad, but what can I say, you buy a Clive Cussler book and you have a great adventure no matter what title it is. I have never been disappointed ever.

Up until now I have enjoyed every book of this series. Barbara Rosenblat, is as always an excellent narrator, and brings all characters to vivid life, love her. The story line, which is good, but has way to much filler stuff that we can do without. Got a little tired of all the dialog and visiting restaurants, without much meat in the story. As always there is a lot of history thrown in here and there, which I enjoy a lot, but in this book, it just goes on and on. Get the feeling the book could have been a couple of hours shorter and still get to the point quite nicely. Still one of my favourite series, but hopefully the next book will be a little more to the point.

I have enjoyed this series very much and this installment is right up there with the rest of them.
Georgie is priceless as is the cast of characters that follow her around. The narrator Katherine Kellgren absolutely makes this book, have to give 50/50 credit to both her and the author. Between the two of them, this is a super winning series and I cannot wait to move onto the next one.

I was not sure what I expected of this book, but always like to mix up my usual thriller reading with light mysteries. Well, I was more than pleasantly surprised and enjoyed every bit of it. Georgie was a riot, and I found myself laughing while driving down the road. Katherine Kellgren was an absolutely fabulous narrator, she brought Georgie and all of her friends to sparkling life. I am definitely a fan now and looking forward to the next adventure.

Up until now I have enjoyed this series. I found this book to be unbelievably boring with just the 3 girls running around doing nothing. It was a waste of time and money and not sure if I am going to read the next one. The other books were cute little mysteries and fun light reading, but this one was none of that. It is like the author was running out of ideas, but had to get a book out, so just kept writing anyway. To bad. I do want to give marks to the Narrator, but even she could not save this book.

Touching book

This book was chosen as our November read in my book club. After 3 tries, I gave up reading it, just could not get into it. After some grief by the other members, I decided to just purchase it and try with the audio version. Very happy I did. From the first minute of listening to Barbara Rosenblat I was hooked. When it switch over to Casandra Morris, the book really came to life. I think the book lost a little of its interpretation in the translation from French to English, and then again to the audio, but was still a very good read. I try not to analize books to death and just appreciate the story for what it is. I found it very sweet and touching, the 3 main characters very endearing and left me with a hope that they would continue their friendship. Well worth it, enjoyed it very much.

Being a big fan of Nelson DeMilles books I was a little leary of the 21 1/2 hours of audio, but decided to go for it. LOVED this book. Christian Rummel is a GREAT narrator and brought John Sutter and his family to life and draws the listener right into the story. As soon as I was finished this one I immediatly purchased The Gate House and kept on listening. Nearly 50 hours and I was upset when I got to the end. I found myself taking the long way home in my car, and taking the dogs for extra walks just so I could listen to a few more chapters before I had to turn it off. Really really good books. Now Mr DeMille needs to publish another chapter of John Corey life and I will be a happy camper :)

I have to agree with the Marjorie who has also submitted a review on this book. Narrators make or break an audio book and this one is, and I hate to say it, terrible. I have read the entire series and the reason I have "read" them is because I cannot take the narrator. This is the last book in the series and I decided to purchase the audio, just because I love audio books. Ugh, sorry. Again if you cannot pronounce the words properly, they should not be narrating books.
As for the story itself, I wish she would lighten Vickie up and give her a backbone, come on. I love Father John and totally understand his background and being alcoholic, very good perspective on him. But again I agree with the other review in that some of it is to "soap opera ish" If Vicki "pushes her dinner away" one more time I swear!. I don't think that girl every eats! Also, in the last book Father John had his plane tickets in his hand and was leaving the reservation.... I am not quite halfway thru the book now and not a single mention of why he is still there?? I find same same story line in every single book of the series, Father John living minute to minute waiting for his marching orders. Give it up already. Obviously he is staying there, so tidy up that part and get on with it. Margaret Coel has written a good series and I will be on the waiting list for the next one, just not in audio unfortunatly.
