That Voice!
Revisado: 02-02-19
After listening for the first three seconds I thought "They should've hired a professional narrator instead of letting the author read his own book"
I was wrong!
Tommy did a great job and his story about the reason why his voice is the way it is added more to the point of the whole book. Fantastic storytelling, interesting, engaging, and even more so to those "on the wrong side of 300lbs".
As a Canadian that consumes a lot of US media, for some reason I never came across Tommy's work until I stumbled upon this book's excerpt as a suggestion on some website. And I am so glad I did. Thank you Tommy for sharing your story.

Historia
Author John W. Loftus, a former minister turned atheist, argues we would all be better off if we viewed any religion - including our own - from the informed skepticism of an outsider, a nonbeliever. For this reason, he has devised "the outsider test for faith". He describes it as a variation on the Golden Rule: "Do unto your own faith what you do to other faiths." Essentially, this means applying the same skepticism to our own beliefs as we do to the beliefs of other faiths.

Excellent content, not so the narration
Revisado: 05-01-16
The content is excellent, easy to follow and as a argument against religious faith is probably the best one I've read. But the narration seems rushed.
I have never had to use the speed option, but here I had to listed to the whole book at 0.75x because the narration is just too quick and the narrator makes a number of errors as well that were not re-recorded. Hence the conclusion that the production was rushed.
Still a good read as the content makes up for the not so good narration.

Yes, the west is best, or better
Revisado: 03-30-16
As biased as that sounds, this book makes me appreciate more being part of, and having been raised in the west. The book might be a bit too enthusiastic at times, but nevertheless there is nothing that I could disagree with, at least as non-expert in the subject.
It felt like great lecture given a great professor, one that makes the students leave the class smiling.

Historia
In this short book, Sam Harris and Maajid Nawaz invite you to join an urgently needed conversation: Is Islam a religion of peace or war? Is it amenable to reform? Why do so many Muslims seem drawn to extremism? What do words like Islamism, jihadism, and fundamentalism mean in today's world? Remarkable for the breadth and depth of its analysis, this dialogue between a famous atheist and a former radical is all the more startling for its decorum. Harris and Nawaz have produced something genuinely new: they engage one of the most polarizing issues of our time - fearlessly and fully - and actually make progress.

An Intelligent Conversation
Revisado: 03-30-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Islam and the Future of Tolerance to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print edition, but I appreciate very much listening to the two authors.
What did you like best about this story?
The book is a conversation, and it is such a good and intelligent conversation we all should be having.
What does Sam Harris and Maajid Nawaz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Their tone enriches the subject and shows empathy and understanding to the conversation.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A documentary might work well. Not sure what a good tag line would be. The name of the book is already very good.
