Real fun “feel good” story
Revisado: 04-09-21
I would not normally have listened to a story like this but something about it aught my attention and I’m glad it did. ms. Angela prepared a very interesting and honest story of the tragedies of hate and the “Freedom” that love can provide for all of us. Ms. Aven Shore did an excellent job of portraying the main characters as they traveled through a journey of discovery and all the various emotions and feelings that journey contained. I would highly recommend this book if you are in need of some light listening and are prepared to consider the endless possibilities of opening yourself to love.

So much unique fun!
Revisado: 02-23-21
Let’s start with “what an entertaining audiobook!” The music, the sounds, the effects all combined to create the fantastic world that is dark oak. I count myself a traditionalist in terms of audiobooks and don’t typically lean towards fully produced books but it only took a short time to adjust and then I settled in for an enjoyable listen. The writing was clear and engaging, the characters believable, and the word choices advanced. The narration, done by Mr. Peever, was excellent and very easy and enjoyable to listen to.
I do recommend this book to listeners of all ages, 13+.
Lastly, I was offered this title in exchange for a fair and honest review.

After an encounter with a beautiful stranger, Aidan finds himself in the Abyss, a hellish landscape filled with lost souls, demons, and nightmarish beasts. Novel concept, well written and narrated
Revisado: 07-06-20
I should have listened to this sooner. I would not have likely gravitated to this title had I not noticed it on a Facebook group but I’m glad I took a chance and gave it a listen.
The story “realm” is interesting in the aspect that it is between heaven and hell? I liked the twist of the “human” being mixed race with demon blood. The story line was easy to follow and the “romance” while being rather hot at times it was laced into the overall plot line and didn’t seem at all gratuitous.
I enjoyed how the narrator Austin flowed between each distinctive character choice mixing many different and noticeable character voices all while remaining true to the MC voice.
Well done!

Nice bit of work!
Revisado: 03-06-20
Let’s start with a high level overview...while this book will likely not make my top ten favorite books list, if you like a spooky thriller with a nice plot twist I recommend giving this book a listen/read.
That said let’s get a little deeper, the author, J.J. Kennard, developed their characters well enough. The dialogue was genuine and the plot engaging. I really enjoyed the plot twist, revealed in the last chapter in a conversation between Daniel (the priest) and Benjamin (the doctor), as it definitely gave me pause to think.
The main reason I gave this book a listen was the narrator, ms. Sally Roughton. I really enjoyed her voice and delivery, mixing male and female characters, young and adult, British and Irish dialects all while keeping a nice flow and cadence. My only negative comment would be the ambiance of the room/studio. I was, at times, a little distracted by the sound reflection from, presumably, untreated walls.
Nice work!

The galactic wheel burns in an apocalyptic inferno. Unbridled conflict explodes and empires collapse. Hope falters on a million, million worlds as the mages rise from the shadows with archaic knowledge. As defeat and surrender loom, few believe it will make any difference.

This second book in the War of the Wheels Trilogy was even better than book one. The plot line and writing pace was engaging, the new characters introduced were well received! The struggles and challenges had me spell bound. I can't wait for the release and final chapters of book three!

Superb narration and enjoyable listen!
Revisado: 12-11-19
I very much enjoyed listening to this title. The narration was smooth and entertaining, the dialogue was easy to follow and flowed seamlessly from character to character. I found myself swept away by the writing into another world not so far away. I particularly enjoyed the "class" contrast between the upper, middle, and lower classes that were represented by the characters and the realization that this bias was unfair and dehumanizing. Thank you Stephanie K. Smith for your honest writing and to Karla Crome for your wonderful voice acting.
