Historia
For too long, Christians have domesticated God, bringing him down to our level as if he is a God who can be tamed. But he is a God who is high and lifted up, the Creator rather than the creature, someone than whom none greater can be conceived. If God is the most perfect, supreme being, infinite and incomprehensible, then certain perfect-making attributes must be true of him. Perfections like aseity, simplicity, immutability, impassibility, and eternity shield God from being crippled by creaturely limitations.

Historia
Jonathan Edwards dissertation concerning the ultimate reason that God made the world. One of several pieces written by the brilliant theologian so that a large number readers might understand complicated theological issues. Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) is a towering figure in American history. A controversial theologian and the author of the famous sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, he ignited the momentous Great Awakening of the eighteenth century.

I’d highly recommend Edwards’ “Concerning the End for Which God Created the Earth” for anyone who wants to learn more about the Biblical teaching on why God ultimately does all that He does.
