Historia
Hannah has done everything to make sure her life is safe and secure. A long way from her unstable childhood growing up in foster care, she’s content with her sweet, little, messy apartment and her satisfying job as a social worker. She quietly worries that, aged 36, she might never fall in love. But otherwise her life is where she wants it to be. Until, encouraged by her best friend to join a dating app, she meets Alex. He’s irresistibly handsome. He loves the same music as her. The same food as well.

Had me wrapped in the story start to finish
Revisado: 11-24-22
Suspense thriller being my favorite is a gift and a curse, I can usually perfectly peg the twist before we get there. This one blindsided me and not with something implausible. It was a great read/listen

Historia
On a cool June morning, Isa Wilde, a resident of the seemingly idyllic coastal village of Salten, is walking her dog along a tidal estuary. Before she can stop him, Isa's dog charges into the water to retrieve what first appears to be a wayward stick - and to her horror, Isa discovers it's not a stick at all...but a human bone. As her three best friends from childhood converge in Salten to comfort a seriously shaken-up Isa, terrifying discoveries are made, and their collective history slowly unravels.

Fan of Ruth Ware's work but this falls short
Revisado: 06-21-18
Imogen Church is a fantastic narrator and quite honestly, she carries the story so that you'll finish it. I read other reviews and should have listened, much of this book is repetitive, there is far more focus on the baby than the story calls for and it's not essential to the plot. Generally, when I read or listen to books by Ruth Ware I am gripping my seat and constantly listening or page turning. The Lying Game falls flat, I'm not sure which part to call the climax and the plot twist is barely there. Also, the publisher description is entirely incorrect, they are not describing Isa, they are describing Kate as far as where she lives, but the description of the inciting incident is incorrect too, her dog does not find the bone. There are a lot of disjointed pieces to this book and I'm glad this is not the first of Ruth Ware's books that I read because I would have missed the other three (In a Dark, Dark Wood; The Woman in Cabin 10, and The Death of Mrs. Westaway) book which I think are great.

Historia
Alex Dale is lost. Destructive habits have cost her a marriage and a journalism career. All she has left is her routine: a morning run until her body aches, then a few hours of forgettable work before the past grabs hold and drags her down. Every day is treading water, every night is drowning. Until Alex discovers Amy Stevenson. Amy Stevenson, who was just another girl from a nearby town until the day she was found unconscious after a merciless assault. Amy Stevenson, who has been in a coma for fifteen years, forgotten by the world.

I enjoyed the narrators but I knew who did it far before the end of the story.
