Emily O'Dora lives in a not too distant future where aging has been cured and artificial intelligence has reduced the need for labor considerably. However, violence and slavery are universally accepted as normal, and the powers that be seem so absolute that changing anything seems impossible.

Fight between balance of justice and liberty. Dystopia. Entertaining. Thought provoking. Well written. Plot unfolds smoothly. Hard beginning that makes sense as it goes. Recommend.

Historia
Amid the dizzying rides, tantalizing games of chance, and fanciful attractions of a state fair, two teenage sweethearts on the cusp of life and love's pleasures find their way to a shadowy carnival tent brimming with curiosities. There, from the bizarre and enthralling Gypsy Mummy, a mechanized merchant of dreams and prognosticator of tomorrows, the young couple learns what fate promises for them. But fate, for Odd Thomas and Stormy Llewellyn, is something altogether different: full of dark corners, sharp edges, and things no seer or soothsayer could ever anticipate.

Not the full book. Wasted money.

I’m not sure why they charge for a preview. I was hoping this was the full book and was disappointed to see it is just a 59 min preview. Due to the cost, I assumed this was the full book.

Historia
As President Trump’s national security advisor, John Bolton spent many of his 453 days in the room where it happened, and the facts speak for themselves. The result is one of the few White House memoirs to date by a top-level official. With almost daily access to the president, John Bolton has produced a precise rendering of his days in and around the Oval Office. What Bolton saw astonished him: a president for whom getting reelected was the only thing that mattered, even if it meant endangering or weakening the nation.

Exposé of the Man-Baby Donald Trump
Revisado: 07-08-20
We all knew a totally incompetent sociopathic man-baby stoke the reins to the country in our totally undemocratic electoral system. So fun to read another inside view of the temper tantrums from “our” cake-eater wannabe president. It is like an incompetent 10 year old is driving the political bus. Lol, Trump thought Finland was part of Russia. What an idiot! Excellent read from one of his own party. Everybody in the world knows what an idiot Trump is. I feel bad for the classy world leaders who have to tolerate the orange baby demon sitting at their tables. What an insult to diplomacy! This book gives excellent insight into: why it matters to be able to actually negotiate, why corruption can ruin purpose, and what a total idiot Donald Trump is.

Unfounded Anti-Muslim Propaganda
Revisado: 07-29-19
This was a disgusting read that is loosely based on small and sheltered views of certain extreme Shiite views. Beck makes little distinction in classifying all Muslims in this group. He lays out a fictional scenario where all the free world is forced to practice Sharia law. This is comparable to classifying all Christians as Illuminati that will undermine the freedom of the entire world. If you love propaganda news and blatant ill founded lies that justify extreme intolerance, this book is for you. If you have half a brain, pass. Of the hundreds of audible reads, I have in my library, this is an embarrassment and was a waste of time.

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Therapeutic and amazing read!
Revisado: 11-17-18
This read hit home on so many levels, as I am also a survivor of Mormonism and a reject from certain family and friends. Tara’s story is a must read. Although her situation was so much more intense than my simple upbringing and forced embrace of the religion (blessing, baptism, preisthood, mission, temple marriage, etc), the stories were all to familiar of the well-intended misled by their loyalties to a misogynistic religion full of rich pioneer history and stories of faith. Characters like Gene Westover, the most faithful in his beliefs to such a dangerous and extreme apocalyptic religion, walk progress back to primitive times. Tara’s story illustrates how the families of the devout suffer tremendously. When the intellectual or strong reject it, they are pretty much cut off. Her description of the wide gaps that make up Mormon families hit home for me. Our Idaho/Utah society is broken by faith. Tara’s writing gives me such hope and purpose. She is a rock star and a model of hope for the rest of us. I feel so bad for the abuse she suffered and am so proud of the strength she mustered to confront it all and move beyond it. Also, so impressive to see her best all odds of educational success considering her “home schooling”. This is one of the best and most inspiring reads ever!

Terrible ignorant non scientific approach to wealth OUTDATED!!!
Revisado: 04-18-16
Terrible outdated self-promoting book based on an ignorant archaic views. This is not science. It actually discouraged further readings on the subject. I knew it was trash when it condemned charity. The premise is that thought matter exists and is formed into reality just by thinking about it. There were a few good points buried in the depths of ignorance. The narrator also has a terrible speech impediment.

Inspirational, Comical, And Excellent Read
Revisado: 01-05-16
I didn't know what to expect, but was blown away by Shay an Gavin's ability to continually draw me in, as they comically and seriously outline and drive through live's truths and the societal fallacies that encompass our perception of healthy lifestyle changes. This book is for everybody. Although my body type is not in need of serious weight loss, I now feel uplifted and motivated enough to pursue the 30 day challenge. I wouldn't do it without following the Butler example of including my family. I was especially touched by the great relationship that Shay and Gavin have as father and son. Their open dialogue about difficult life challenges was so healthy. Growing up, I was the kid who occasionally labeled others fat when their wit exceeded my own. Shay was an example then and remains so now. Shay helped me understand much of the psychology behind cutting remarks. The book isn't about weight loss. It is a positive, motivational read about taking steps towards perfection.
This book is an excellent must read. Thanks Shay. Dillon S.

Great story annoying reader
Revisado: 09-16-15
Although the story is great and the reader does many accents, her imitation of any male antagonist sounds gargled and exaggerated. Aside from this, the performance was great.
