Historia
Harry August is on his deathbed. Again. No matter what he does or the decisions he makes, when death comes, Harry always returns to where he began, a child with all the knowledge of a life he has already lived a dozen times before. Nothing ever changes. Until now. As Harry nears the end of his 11th life, a little girl appears at his bedside. "I nearly missed you, Doctor August", she says. "I need to send a message". This is the story of what Harry does next, and what he did before, and how he tries to save a past he cannot change and a future he cannot allow.

Almost didn't buy!
Revisado: 05-16-19
I read the reviews and almost didn't buy this book. I was looking for a book that would fill the void until the book I wanted was going to be released.
I am so glad that I got this book. It was enthralling. I was captured from the beginning to the end. I have to rate this as one of my favorite books. I will be listening to this again and again.
Don't let the reviews throw you off.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 03-13-19
I really started this book wanting to love it and it did start out great. Then suddenly it seemed like a whole new story started without any warning. I quickly lost interest as I didn't understand what was happening. Then as I caught on the story kept switching with no warning. I kind of pieced it together as I went but again it was very disjointed.

Narrator isn't as bad as everyone says!
Revisado: 10-10-18
I am listening to the book now and I am truly enjoying it. The narrator isn't as good as the narrator on the other volumes but I find him pleasant enough and I lose myself in the story.
I want people to know that this narrator is just fine.

Absolutely amazing!
Revisado: 07-08-18
I wasn't sure I was going to like this book but I needed something to fill the time until I located what I thought would be a really good book. Boy was I mistaken. What a glorious adventure this was. I did not want it to end. I hope at some point he decides to write a follow-up to this story as I can see a million ways it could go!!

Historia
Winter 1862, London. Adelaide McKee, a former prostitute, arrives on the doorstep of veterinarian John Crawford, a man she met once seven years earlier. Their brief meeting produced a child who, until now, had been presumed dead. McKee has learned that the girl lives - but that her life and soul are in mortal peril from a vampiric ghost. But this is no ordinary spirit; the bloodthirsty wraith is none other than John Polidori, the onetime physician to the mad, bad, and dangerous Romantic poet Lord Byron.

Narration is a no go
Revisado: 05-25-18
Tim Powers is one of my favorite authors. I devour everything he writes. Unfortunately the narration on this ruined it for me. Sometimes I cannot even understand what she is saying as she slurs words, mispronounces words and generally doesn't really know the characters.
I'd love to hear this narrated by someone else as I really want to listen to it but I just can't continue.

An Entertaining Read
Revisado: 01-24-16
Where does Veiled rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Well I have listened to many, many, many audiobooks. I think this would fall in the upper 30% of all the books I have listened to.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Veiled?
I found how the Tess, the main character, slowly learned about who her soulmate was and how she dealt with conflicting feelings.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Tess was underwater contemplating her soon to be mortal life and her soulmate.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A story of love that is, yet to be.
Any additional comments?
I can't wait until the next book in the series comes out! I want to see how Tess's mortal life unfolds with all its trials and tribulations.
