A wonderful message that I really heard, and needed
Revisado: 01-13-25
I liked the practical examples and Mel’s vulnerability in showing how she mishandled situations in the past that would have benefited from using the Let Them Theory.
Maybe I’m the ideal audience for this book since I’m a similar age and situation to Mel Robbins but I want to tell everyone about using this technique to improve interactions and relationships. Yes, I know I can’t until they’re ready to learn about it. Post pandemic, many people act and feel bitter and, if I’m being honest, self-centered. People aren’t being kind or considerate enough to everyone in their lives. And it’s hard to just “do you” without feeling like others are affecting it, when in truth we always have a choice. The Let Them theory is a great way to “do you” in a productive way.
I particularly liked the section about how to make new friends and put yourself out there. We are all isolated more than we used to be and this was really helpful to remember with new jobs or being in a new city that we can grow our group but we have to make the effort.
There is a section regarding adult children and about dating which although brief was good information for topics that are oversaturated but lacking in straightforward information.
I’m going to listen to it again soon to absorb more.

Entertaining read
Revisado: 12-22-24
This story in the series was a little light on character development compared to previous books. All the characters were present but they didn’t do much to progress the plot.

She said yes to Morelli. She said yes to Ranger. Now Stephanie Plum has two fiancés and no idea what to do about it. But the way things are going, she might not live long enough to marry anyone. While Stephanie stalls for time, she buries herself in her work as a bounty hunter, tracking down an unusually varied assortment of fugitives from justice. There’s Eugene Fleck, a seemingly sweet online influencer who might also be YouTube star Robin Hoodie, masked hero to the homeless, who hijacks delivery trucks and distributes their contents to the needy.

I like that they are able to keep the characters in involved in the storylines. Of course, none of them age, but that’s part of the fun of reading this series.

We need more of Valerie Garcia in the world
Revisado: 10-25-24
This book tells the reality of finding what really works for each of us. Being authentic is challenging, whether you're in a corporate environment or if you are an entrepreneur. It's also full of ups and downs and questioning if we're on the right path. As Valerie tells us about her journey in corporate America and what she has learned along the way, her vulnerability is refreshing. I'm glad that the author read the book so it felt more intimate. Since finishing the book, I have gifted a copy to a friend and it's a book that will get shared and discussed amongst professional peers.

Sweet story
Revisado: 02-07-24
I read a number of reviews before deciding whether to read this book. Normally, I am not excited about stories about witches. But, I was looking for a nice read without it being too heavy/dramatic.
I enjoyed the author’s writing style, and how she described things (people, places, facial expressions) without going overboard. Sometimes authors take a half a page to describe something in too much detail and it interrupts the story.
One other thing I particularly enjoyed about this book was that it was set in current, or at least fairly current times.
I look forward to reading more books from this author .

I love this book. It was recommended by a couple people. I thought it would just be OK, but it was blown away by how good it was from page 1 until the end. I appreciate the author reading it himself – it makes it much more intimate.
Anyone who is looking to take their business to the next level and needs help with ideas and the mindset to make it happen should read this book.
