Gary is a master of business frameworks
Revisado: 11-05-24
This book is a robust course on business. You go through and get an understanding of the different aspects that make up a business, and once your company is ready to dive into a certain subject, you can mine a ton of gold from just one chapter that focuses on that topic. huge chapter is very rich in detailed and practical information that can be applied immediately.
The thing that would take this book up a notch is to have it narrated by Gary himself! But I think he's demonstrating some of the systems and processes that he teaches about by having others narrate. :)
I particularly liked the end of the book where it illustrated a sales sequence That someone can take a prospect through. implementing that alone could revolutionize a company.
And there were great insights early on about the competence of a team. As a CEO of a decade, I looked back at certain situations and found a lot of truth in that topic about competence.
And lastly, I really enjoyed the topic of the different aspects of process development. Just because you innovated the process doesn't mean you have to do the process. nor does it mean you have to manage the process. Knowing that there are different roles within a process is very liberating, because as the visionary it frees me up to just focus on my zone of genius and allow others to focus on theirs as it relates to building and executing on processes. Love it.
If you are someone that blazes through books and then doesn't use them after that, this one might not be for you. But if you are someone who reads books and uses them as a tool to improve your business and life, I don't know a place where you can find more value packed wisdom than this book.

Historia
Dan Sullivan, the world's leading coach for highly successful entrepreneurs, wants you to know that achieving 10X growth is exponentially easier than striving for 2X growth. Most find this idea confusing at first because simply imagining 10X growth causes them to think they need to do 10X more work to achieve it. However, being a 10X entrepreneur is nothing like what most people think.

more revelations than in any other business book
Revisado: 08-17-23
You would think you understand what this book is going to be about whenever you see the title, and yes it holds true to the theme. But it gives you so much more than what You would think you'd get out of a business book like this.
this is not your run-of-the-mill book about delegating and outsourcing and going to the beach. this literally is a guidebook that entrepreneurs at all stages can benefit from. amazing exercises

this is reinvigorating me as a CEO
Revisado: 01-04-22
this book is packed with concepts that I have not heard of before but that immediately makes sense. It is reinvigorating my fire as CEO and showing me ways that I can think that will boost our company beyond just acquiring customers. I think this can be applied to the experience of our team members as well.

less insight than the podcasts
Revisado: 11-20-18
my favorite part about the book was how it talked about how investors should be viewed. You should do everything in your power to make sure you take care of them Above All Else. The storytelling was decent but not too much actionable content in this. I was looking for something more along the lines of a system that could be implemented. it was just some basic ideas that I already knew.

Historia
While human lives are endlessly variable, our most memorable positive moments are dominated by four elements: elevation, insight, pride, and connection. If we embrace these elements, we can conjure more moments that matter. What if a teacher could design a lesson that he knew his students would remember 20 years later? What if a manager knew how to create an experience that would delight customers? What if you had a better sense of how to create memories that matter for your children?

this was a dud
Revisado: 10-15-18
There are not any practical steps for application, and the stories just show that you should try this. They don't even give clues to how to put this to use. All sizzle, no steak.
The online resources at their website don't help either. They're there to sell the book. It's a never ending loop with no "aha" moment.

Historia
Why is it so hard to make lasting changes in our companies, in our communities, and in our own lives? The primary obstacle is a conflict that's built into our brains, say Chip and Dan Heath, authors of the critically acclaimed best seller Made to Stick. Psychologists have discovered that our minds are ruled by two different systems - the rational mind and the emotional mind - that compete for control. The rational mind wants a great beach body; the emotional mind wants that Oreo cookie.

fantastic book full of applicable change methods.
Revisado: 04-27-16
stick is not a narrative, but rather a series of different short stories that illustrates how principles of change used to create miraculous differences. the concepts in this book were so easy to follow along with, that I found myself having multiple conversations about the topics in this book and teaching others about the principles in it. It is so practical and so useful. These are not common sense things, but things that do make sense once they are hot. I will definitely be revisiting this book to study it intently.
