Looked forward to listening to this book
Revisado: 02-08-22
I enjoyed this book with the exception of the Bob voice. The narrator made him sound stuffed up. I kept wanting him to blow his nose. I get there were numerous males in this book & difficult to pull up distinguishing voices for all of them. Narrator did a good job but “Bob” ‘s voice was distracting. Otherwise it was a book I looked forward to listening to.

What a fantastically narrated story. It’s hard to believe it was free
Revisado: 01-28-22
I absolutely love this book narrated so very well. The storyline was wonderfully laid out and suspenseful until the end. This is an Audible included book. I’m really surprised that a book of this quality was free - pleasantly surprised. Again, the narration was fantastic

Historia
Some call him friend or boss. Some call him husband or dad. Some call him son, even a favorite son. But the only title that matters to him is the one the media has given him: the Poet. A name he earned from the written words he leaves behind after he kills that are as dark and mysterious as the reason he chooses his victims. One word, two, three, a story in a poem, a secret that only Detective Samantha Jazz can solve. Because, he’s writing this story for her.

The story might be good but the oral readers are distracting and terrible
Revisado: 12-15-21
I have listened to other books with these two oral readers. Listening to the female is like being on a swing- her tone goes up, it goes down, it goes up, it goes down. I am not even halfway through this book so I have no idea if it’s even good. But the readers are so distracting.
The male reader is so full of rage so early in the book, and yet there is no build up to this rage. There is No Foundation for the rage in his voice. And it is completely unnecessary. It’s like a ham on stage. Way over doing the part he has to play.
The female plays a female cop and obviously she has no idea how a female cop acts or sounds. It’s like she’s trying to fake sounding like a cop a female cop. She will suddenly drop the end of a sentence - like that makes her sound more masculine or something. And she sounds incredibly bored with her job. I’ve listened to her before reading other audible books and the singsongy nature of her voice makes it difficult to focus on the story. I will keep at it begrudgingly, until I make the decision that I am too distracted by the readers that I must return this book too.

Horrible & predictable
Revisado: 12-13-21
Lead male alternates between whiny & extra macho. In real life with his hair trigger temp he’d punch a woman. And Georgia ? The supposed hero jumps to so many conclusions you could exercise to this book. Hate it. Tried to return it but audible has made it hard. Tried numerous ways -all outdated. Only had this book for 30 days. Dreaded listening to it to get my moneys worth. I stopped. Not worth the aggravation. SO PREDICTABLE

Historia
Psychiatrist Dr. Gwen Moore is an expert on killers. She’s spent a decade treating California’s most depraved predators and unlocking their motives - predators much like the notorious Bloody Heart serial killer, whose latest teenage victim escaped and then identified local high school teacher Randall Thompson as his captor. The case against Thompson as the Bloody Heart Killer is damning - and closed, as far as Gwen and the media are concerned. If not for one new development.

This is one of those books that is enjoyable & intriguing every bit of the listening journey. The characters are craftily developed & plot believable. The entire story is plausible. The plausibility makes the story all the more mysterious & horrifying. Bravo. Well done

Story just ok with twist at end. Performance bad
Revisado: 09-16-20
The narrator was distracting. She would drop pitch at the end of sentences & then clip off the end. People don’t talk that way. She did it mostly when narrating a male voice. Made the police detectives sound like they were bored. It affected my enjoyment of the book quite a bit. Would not recommend it audibly but maybe read it yourself.

Started out ok but then slooooowed
Revisado: 02-15-18
This novel started out ok with shades of what was to come. And that was repetition and slogginess. I fast forwarded through about 2 hours of this book -and still did not miss a thing. If the author condenses the book, it will be worth buying. As it is, it is not. Unless you enjoy tedium. Beat a dead horse with that one.
