I’ve gone through the entire series in a week and am listening to it again now. Wonderful main character. The format of the novellas is perfect to get to know it. I can’t wait for the AppleTV show.

It’s great to be able to an actual novel after three excellent novellas. Loved having some other POV in this installement.

I picked up this book after watching Once upon a time in Hollywood. It’s great. Its main appeal isn’t the terrible crimes perpretated by the Manson family, it’s the very clear, thorough look at law enforcement, the DA’s office and, beyond it, a period of time that, as a child of the 90s, I’ve not experienced.
The narrator is very good. For the past twenty-something hours, the way he says « thing » has been a welcome distraction from the most awful details of the crimes.

Another excellent performance. I’m amazed that over the series, every character got to have their voice to the point that you know immediately who is talking. Special mentions to the « voices » of Suyin and Aodhan in this one.

Not the best Singh book in my opinion, but the issue of whom she paired with whom is silly.
It was great to get a book spanning such a big part of the Seven’s history. Also great to meet the new characters in China. Especially Suyin’s cousin; his story felt like the natural conclusion of so many of the previous books: yes, every child deserves a chance.
My only issue was the mystery. Some of them have been a little weak, but this one was paper thin.
