Brilliant as always, her insights near the end chapters on ‘near and far enemies’ of emotions especially resonated with me as someone practicing mindfulness. Audiobook contains a bit more than the book since it’s read by the author which is also great :)

Brave and Important

It must have taken a lot of courage to write down what make up some of the worst chapters of her life, and yet she does so with objectivity and honesty. Her narration is great and makes for a more authentic biography. It’s a stark reminder that we mostly believe what we are told to by the media, and that things and people are usually not at all what they seem. And far more multifaceted.

Important to listen to her side of the story, as a woman especially. It’s such a highlight of firstly the media’s power over individual narratives, and the power of family trauma to shape the psychological narrative of multiple lives.

Balanced Views That Are Long Overdue

I enjoyed the author’s objective and nuanced take on liberal and extreme feminism, liberal views in general, as well conservatism and how she brought them all together in what one can only call common sense - if only we weren’t so brainwashed by media and sex culture.
