Historia
When ex–Vegas showgirl and local business owner Bunny Reid starts an online dating service called Cupid’s Cat’s Meow, out-of-town visitors flock to her bowling alley for the speed dating and cat show events that she hosts to bring in extra cash. Bunny’s scheme sounds harmless enough, but school psychologist Skye Denison knows all too well that an influx of strangers in Scumble River always spells trouble….

A little light on the murder mystery this time
Revisado: 10-02-12
What made the experience of listening to Murder of the Cat's Meow the most enjoyable?
This was another good Scumble River tale.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I always enjoy the interplay between the mystery and the main character in this series. This book falls a little short of the normal balance between the two. The story was a little heavy on the personal life of Skye and too light on the mystery.
What does Christine Leto bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love listening to this series. Ms. Leto has a great voice and does a great job in her performance. After listening to many, many hours of audio books, I love listening to a book in which the narrorator's performance and the content spur my imagination into being able to picture each character. At the same time, they should never detract or distract from the story. Ms. Leto does this well.

Historia
Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to "go into the light." But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e., murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

entertaining and enjoyable
Revisado: 04-02-12
Any additional comments?
This seemed a little like the author was trying a different take on the Janet Evanovich series. Using the same general formula down to the humor and just putting a different spin on it. The use of Lorelei King as the narrator probably contributed to this opinion, though I wouldn't change that. Ms.King does a great job as always. That said, the books are enjoyable and entertaining. I've listened to all of the books in the series thus far.

Historia
Hayley Phillips came to Memphis hoping for a new start, for herself and her unborn child. What she found was a home, said to be haunted but surrounded by beauty and friends - including Roz's son Harper. But to Hayley's chagrin, she has begun to dream about Harper - as much more than a friend. If Hayley gives in to her desire, she's afraid the foundation she's built with Harper will come tumbling down. Especially since she's begun to suspect that her feelings are no longer completely her own.

too much accent
Revisado: 03-09-12
Any additional comments?
I had a hard time listening to the accent. It distracted me from the story. The narrator did a great job with accent, but it was too much for me and I'm from Texas!

Nothing "easy, breezy" about this book
Revisado: 11-02-09
I don't know how anyone could describe this as "easy, breezy escapism". There was nothing fun about this book...It made me feel down to listen to... Maybe it would help if the story was compelling, but it wasn't.
