Historia
Lt. Joe Gunther of the Brattleboro, Vermont, police force has a serious problem: in a community where a decade could pass without a single murder, the body count is suddenly mounting. Innocent citizens are being killed - and others set up - seemingly orchestrated by a mysterious ski-masked man. Signs suggest that a three-year-old murder trial might lie at the heart of things, but it's a case that many in the department would prefer remained closed. A man of quiet integrity, Lt. Gunther knows that he must pursue the case to its conclusion, wherever it leads.

Great story and excellent narration…
Revisado: 08-31-22
Mr. Mayor’s story, characters (people and places), and the twists and turns of a classic procedural, coupled with Mr. Taylorson’s narration…must be experienced.
I had to take the long way around several times as I did not want to turn it off!!

Historia
“In wartime,” Winston Churchill wrote, “truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.” For Britain’s counterintelligence operations, this meant finding the unlikeliest agent imaginable - a history professor named Alfred Vicary, handpicked by Churchill himself to expose a highly dangerous, but unknown, traitor. The Nazis, however, have also chosen an unlikely agent.

Excellent story...but...
Revisado: 02-13-21
I enjoyed the story, and the characters were excellent, but there should be a pre-purchase notification readily available and easily seen that warns one of explicit sex scenes. They were unnecessary for the story and very distasteful.

Enchanting...but...
Revisado: 12-12-20
I decided to listen to this story as the picture reminded me of an old train car I rode in, and I like snow.
It is an enchanting little story and very well performed.
Unfortunately there is said by a character towards the end an horrible and blasphemous epithet that ruined it completely, and it was so unnecessary as many other words and phrases could have been utilised instead.
Very disappointing indeed!

For intelligence operative Sean Dillon, it is a routine passport check. But the events it will lead to will be as bloody as any he has ever known. The man he stops at Heathrow airport is Caspar Rashid, born and bred in England, but with family ties to a Bedouin tribe fiercely wedded to the old ways, as he's just found out to his pain.

Great Higgins! Poor reader!
Revisado: 07-26-20
I do hope that Brilliance has not hired this reader for any other books I hope to listen to.
Sounds more like a bad pantomime than a serious read.
