But before he can complete the job, his plane and supplies are burned, stranding him in the Himalayas. Now, with his plane grounded, he must deliver a Tibetan leader’s son to safety over land. Historia
100,000 years ago the object hit the lake at the deepest point, quickly sinking into its mile-deep Stygian darkness. The sheets of ice closed, time moved on and the land forgot. But over the centuries, legends grew of people vanishing, of strange, deformed animals and of an unexplained luminescence down in the lake depths. When Marcus Stenson won the lucrative contract to create a sturgeon fish farm on the site of disused paper mill on the shore of Lake Baikal, he thought he had won the lottery and refused to listen to the chilling folktales....

Historia
“If I were God, what would you want for Christmas?” With a thousand-yard stare, a haggard and bloodied marine looked incredulously at the war correspondent who asked him this question. In an answer that took “almost forever,” the marine responded, “Give me tomorrow." After nearly four months of continuous and bloody combat in Korea, such a wish seemed impossible.

Historia
As Tom Dugan and Alex Kairouz, his partner and best friend, struggle to ransom their ship and crew from murderous Somali pirates, things take a turn for the worse. A US Navy contracted tanker with a full load of jet fuel is also hijacked, not by garden variety pirates, but by terrorists with links to Al Qaeda, changing the playing field completely. With a possible link between piracy and terrorism now in play, the US and British governments order the halt of all negotiations for captive ships, and enraged pirates ratchet up the mistreatment of the captive crews.

great action story and reading
Revisado: 08-02-17
Where does Deadly Coast rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I have listened to many and put this among the top 10 percent.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes. The risks involved and potential loss of key characters was plausible as was the overall premise behind the story.
Any additional comments?
This is a good series and I would like to see it continued.

Historia
Hailed by The New York Times as "a marvel of storytelling", The Things They Carried’s portrayal of the boots-on-the-ground experience of soldiers in the Vietnam War is a landmark in war writing. Now, three-time Emmy Award winner-Bryan Cranston, star of the hit TV series Breaking Bad, delivers an electrifying performance that walks the book’s hallucinatory line between reality and fiction and highlights the emotional power of the spoken word.

Not Enjoyable
Revisado: 08-13-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Those suffering from Vietnam based ptsd
Would you ever listen to anything by Tim O'Brien again?
Yes, seemed like a great amount of potential and parts were very well written. It just seemed like the disjointed recollections of a bitter Vietnam vet.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Sadness.
Any additional comments?
I did not serve in Nam, but many of my friends did. I think there a lot of vets out there that can identify with this book, but as entertainment it fell flat.

Drawing on comprehensive research and his own intimate knowledge of the Vicksburg Campaign, Jeff Shaara once again weaves brilliant fiction out of the ragged cloth of historical fact. From the command tents where generals plot strategy to the ruined mansions where beleaguered citizens huddle for safety, this is a panoramic portrait of men and women whose lives are forever altered by the siege.

The descriptions of the hospital and life generally in besieged Vicksburg.
What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?
He was easy to understand and did not try to fake voices.

A frighteningly plausible ZA yarn
Revisado: 04-27-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, if they enjoy this genre at all. I think it is one of the best in the genre.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Genesis: Arisen, Book 0.5?
When Zach discovers the probable source of the virus.
Which scene was your favorite?
The C130 episode.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Neither, but it did make me think. Zombies are highly unlikely, but as it discusses a pandemic of something like Ebola in an airborne form could be catastrophic.
Any additional comments?
This book, like many others, contemplate a rapid onset of the symptoms. It seems to me that a delayed period before onset of symptoms but while contagious would be much more likely to spread faster than society could cope.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. He incorporates some interesting new twists to an old theme of interstellar conflict. Also, because his humanoid species offer interesting and thoughtful divergences resulting from adaptation to the colonies they settled hundreds of years earlier, both in terms of physical and social adaptation. Added is a lot of tense action. A good listen.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ebola K: A Terrorism Thriller to be better than the print version?
N/a
What other book might you compare Ebola K: A Terrorism Thriller to and why?
There have been so many beginning with The Andromeda Strain that I cannot compare it to any single book, but the background info and the concept of an opportunistic terrorist using this method sent chills down my spine. One of the most believable pandemic stories I have read.
What about Adam Verner’s performance did you like?
Simply well delivered.
