Historia
When a dachshund she's walking digs up a dead body, she realizes the person she's just waved to, the one speeding away in the dead man's car, may be the murderer. Although Dixie can't ID this mysterious driver, the killer got a good look at her - and Dixie's life is in danger.

Completely Disturbing!
Revisado: 05-24-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Not sure...I guess people who don't mind reading about animals being abused, euthanized and attempted murder of an innocent dog.
What could Blaize Clement have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Not included the above
Any additional comments?
As an animal lover, I found this book completely disturbing. I really enjoyed Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter so was disappointed by this installment in the series - I don't read these types of mysteries to read about animal abuse - I hear enough about that on the news. I actually skipped ahead 3 hours in the book just to find out who the killer was because I didn't want to know what would happen to the animals next. I would not recommend this book to any other animal lovers. In my view, the only redeeming factor is the narration by Julia Gibson.

Historia
Christmas is approaching, and in Québec it's a time of dazzling snowfalls, bright lights, and gatherings with friends in front of blazing hearths. But shadows are falling on the usually festive season for Chief Inspector Armand Gamache. Most of his best agents have left the Homicide Department, his old friend and lieutenant Jean-Guy Beauvoir hasn't spoken to him in months, and hostile forces are lining up against him. When Gamache receives a message from Myrna Landers that a longtime friend has failed to arrive for Christmas in the village of Three Pines, he welcomes the chance to get away.

This is by far one of the best in the Inspector Gamache series. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
