Lackluster
Revisado: 12-11-22
I was slightly disappointed in this book. I have read all of the Vladimir Todd books and loved each one. The characters and the pace. This was dull from beginning to end. The emotion wasn't in there like it was with Vlad. There were parts that should have had a lot of shock value, but were just glanced over. It was just lacking so much of the impact that she managed to put into Vlad.

Amazing
Revisado: 07-22-22
The characters and complete and absolutely lovable. They feel real and I caught myself referring to the main character as 'Yamada-san' whenever I would comment on the book. The mystical aspect of the book is beautifully blended with fairly accurate historical facts (which is my kind of thing).
The narrator is great and I feel like it is really Yamada no Goji speaking to me.
Every book in this series is worth several listens.

Episodic and cliche
Revisado: 05-24-22
Being Wiccan myself, I will admit that some of the way of observing the Sabbats is accurate. That being said, I hate the term blood witch. I cringe each time. The there is the fact that there is no real plot, climax, or conclusion. It's too cliche and unoriginal. I listened to the second book, but can't bring myself to listen to more.
