What did you love best about Virgin Territory?

I really loved the narrator - she brought the book to life. Although this is not the type of book I would ordinarily pick up, it was recommended to me and once I began listening, I was so intrigued that her voice caught my attention and drew me into the story that I listened to the end. I also thought that the writer had the ability to draw clear pictures with her words, without going overboard or being too graphic. She also developed the characters nicely, even when you could 'see what was coming' it was interesting and written well.

What other book might you compare Virgin Territory to and why?

hmmmm...... sorry - don't ordinarily read this genre so can't compare, BUT for a first in this genre, I really did like what the author did. Sexy enough without being smutty, definitely thought provoking and fun.

Have you listened to any of Jo-Ann E. Hess’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've heard some of Ms. Hess's voice over samples and performances and I am always impressed by the range of emotion her voice displays. Regardless of the 'character' she is providing VO for, her voice fits the bill perfectly! Ms. Hess's vocal interpretation sets the tone to bring the character to life. With a likeable, warm, smooth base to her voice that is easy to listen to, she creates a rhythm that's pleasant to listen to and adds flair with a range of emotion from sultry to childlike defiance that draw the character off the page. Her enunciation is clear, which is crucial and she doesn't just 'read', she creates a performance that propels you into the story. In comparing previous performances, it's obvious that she maintains flexibility, yet consistently provides for an outstanding vocal performance. I listen to a tremendous amount of audio books and I can honestly say she is now one of my favorite narrators.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not an extreme reaction, but I did like it much more than I thought I might. It was very well written and left me wanting to hear more. I liked the premise of the story as 'virginity' being a commodity - thought that was interesting and left me figuring "why not!" also liked the love element between the two characters and growth towards something 'better'.

Any additional comments?

Loved the audio version so much that I'll look at additional material from this author, listen to second audio book and also recommend to friends.Keep the narrator for future books!!!
