It took a bit to get into, but what book doesn't as it takes time to set up the cast of characters, etc. Overall I enjoyed it and found the end heart warming

I came from a poor class family, and always felt like there was an invisible barrier between me and my goals. I feel like I just sat down with a dad/grandpa figure and had a deep and meaningful conversation about how to get where I want to be. I feel like this was all info that I should have been taught a very long time ago, and the relief at finally having it now brings the kind of relief that only a gentle sob would bring about. I thirst for this very kind of knowledge and plan to listen to this book over and over and over until I've gleaned every possible pearl of wisdom and lesson from it, then I plan to continue on and read every other book written by this author. amazing stuff, please keep writing, please keep teaching, please keep sharing!!!

I love this series as a whole, but didn't like the FORMAT of this specific book so much. It kept switching between present day, and a recounting of the past as though it were present day. I kept getting lost, and ending up having to rewind in order to figure out where I was and what was happening. It was disorienting to say the least... that said, don't let it keep you from getting this book. I love the entire series, including this one, and can't wait to listen to the next one!!! 😃

overall good, has one track I skip

I have been listening to this mindlessly while I do paperwork for my job, while falling asleep, or while knitting / doing housework. I know it's working because I have 8 big trash bags of items to donate now. there's one track that's dissonant and sets my teeth on edge, but if I'm awake I just skip it and go to the next track. I like the length of this recording, but if audible would implement the ability to loop a recording (auto repeat one / all tracks) I would trade this one in and only use Glenn Harrold, who is much easier to listen to and IMO works more quickly. that said, the duration of this one, and the fact that it works too, as evidenced by the 8 bags of items to donate, will keep me listening to this one...
