Brevity is confidence. Length is fear. This is the guiding principle of Smart Brevity, a communication formula built by Axios journalists to prioritize essential news and information, explain its impact and deliver it in a concise and visual format. Now, the co-founders of Axios have created an essential guide for communicating effectively and efficiently using Smart Brevity - think Strunk and White's Elements of Style for the digital age.

Too long. Too repetitive. Too salesy.
Revisado: 10-14-24
For a book that promises engagement - it wasn’t engaging at all.
One dimensional.
Very very self-focused to sell their product/system.
Very little real insight.
Big promise on title, big under delivery.
Left very disappointed.

Historia
Does God exist? Do we have a soul? Is it possible to make contact with a spiritual realm? How should we respond to the divine? Will life continue beyond death? Most people, whether deeply religious or outright doubters of any spiritual power, have probably pondered these questions for themselves. In fact, the religious impulse is so powerfully pervasive that neuroscience has posed a provocative question: Are our brains wired to worship?

I‘d expect better from great courses
Revisado: 05-14-23
Beyond, ‘ it’s nice to believe. Belief has some benefits. And our brains are capable of belief’ there’s not much hard science in here that hits hard points. If people want to feel good about what they currently believe (especially Christians) -then they’ll love it. If you want to challenge, learn or stretch, save the time and money.

With a 1000 or more ‘Ums’ Ken didn’t seem present to what he was actually saying - which is a shame as he’s a big brain with lots of insight that was mostly lost in delivery.

Historia
Why is it so hard to make lasting changes in our companies, in our communities, and in our own lives? The primary obstacle is a conflict that's built into our brains, say Chip and Dan Heath, authors of the critically acclaimed best seller Made to Stick. Psychologists have discovered that our minds are ruled by two different systems - the rational mind and the emotional mind - that compete for control. The rational mind wants a great beach body; the emotional mind wants that Oreo cookie.

Parenting advice isn't hard to find. There are thousands of books on the subject, as well as a multitude of websites. Much has also been written on the science of child development. What's been lacking, however, are sources of reliable advice that bring together the scientific research and its real-world applications.
