Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I had difficulty getting involved in the story and found it required constant attention in order to keep the characters and action flowing.

Would you be willing to try another book from Elie Wiesel? Why or why not?

I tried this book after reading NIGHT, DAY, and DAWN. I had to put it away after I started it the first time because I just couldn't give it the attention it deserved. When I finally had time to devote myself just to the story line I found it was a good story and I was glad I took the time to finish it.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narration was good but there were times when I wasn't sure which character was speaking.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

I came late to read this book. As many others, I was unwilling to read it because I find stories about what happened in the death camps to the Jews to be a commentary about the very worst of mans' inhumanity to man. I am of German heritage and I was born in America. I am happy I was born in America, and the discomfort I felt reading "night" was long overdue. Now I have renewed energy to continue to read such accounts and try to be empathetic with others who work to make this world a kinder and better place for everyone.

I loved this story! Presented in a way that shows the thought processes the boy uses to work his way through his life. He progresses forward, always learning new ways to live his live. Each step in the process is a building block aimed at giving him an understanding of how he achieved it and why it was important for future growth.
Jeremy Irons' narration truly made the story come alive.

At last an insightful consideration of why I have felt so out of sync with the rest of the people around me. Great suggestions on how to work on fitting in with people.
