Historia
For estranged friends Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren, it’s time to heal the old wounds between them. Where better to repair those severed ties than on a girls’ getaway to the beautiful paradise of Tulum, Mexico? But even after they’re reunited, no one is being completely honest about the past or the secrets they’re hiding. When Ashley disappears on their girls’ night out, Natalie and Lauren have to try to piece together their hazy memories to figure out what could have happened to her, while also reconciling their feelings of guilt over their last moments together.

Solid Psychological Suspense novel
Revisado: 08-06-18
This was a solid 3.5 stars for me. The narrator did a good job, although she didn't really differentiate between any of the three narrators. The story itself was nothing groundbreaking, multiple POVs, small jumps in time, the mystery unraveling right up until the final chapter. There was a definite twist at the very end, and I didn't see it coming, but it wasn't a jaw-dropping twist. I would say my biggest issue with the book was that I really didn't like any of the main characters. Overall, glad I listened, would recommend it for a quick psychological suspense listen, but don't think I'll ever need to listen or read it again.

Entertaining listen for Princess Bride Fans
Revisado: 08-19-16
Great little read for any fan of The Princess Bride. I suppose if you are a die hard fan you may have already known many of the fact Elwes gives the reader, but as a big fan that hasn't reached hard core levels, it was quite informative and entertaining.

Historia
Quentin Coldwater is brilliant but miserable. A senior in high school, he's still secretly preoccupied with a series of fantasy novels he read as a child, set in a magical land called Fillory. Imagine his surprise when he finds himself unexpectedly admitted to a very secret, very exclusive college of magic in upstate New York, where he receives a thorough and rigorous education in the craft of modern sorcery.

CS Lewis/JK Rowling Mashup, but not nearly as good
Revisado: 08-16-16
Solid 3.5 for me. I didn't love this book, but I didn't dislike it either. At times I thought, 'this is pretty cool!' But then at other points I just felt like the author mashed CS Lewis and JK Rowling together and this is what popped out. Undecided if I'll continue listening to the series, but since I'm a 'completionist' by nature, it'll likely happen at some point.

Historia
Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina. By the time her husband Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Literally. Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her. While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce," Emory, suffering from an unexplained head injury, regains consciousness and finds herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark that he won't even tell her his name.

Great thriller needs to lose the romance
Revisado: 06-26-16
Title says it all. The love scenes ruined the flow of a really good thriller. Docked a star from overall for that despite a good performance and good overall story. If you like steamy love scenes mixed into a good thriller, you'll probably like this book.

The first time violinist Julia Ansdell picked up the "Incendio Waltz" in a darkened antique shop in Rome, she knew it was a strikingly unusual composition. The minor key and complex feverish arpeggios have a life of their own. But when she plays the piece, Julia blacks out and awakens to find her small daughter implicated in acts of surprising violence. When she travels to Venice to find the previous owner of the music, she uncovers a heart-stoppingly dark secret....

Great short read, didn't want to put it down once I got started. It wasn't particularly thrilling, just very well written and highly entertaining.

Great Book
Revisado: 05-13-16
Fun book, didn't want to stop listening to it. It was a great political techno thriller. This story line was very personal for Gibson Vaughn, so I'm not sure where his story will go from here, but this one was done well enough that I'll certainly be going along for the ride!!

Solid but unspectacular
Revisado: 05-06-16
Was hoping for a little more suspense, a little more mystery, and that moment when you realize the author fooled you; but it just wasn't there. It was a solid book, just nothing to rave about.

Give me the next book soon!!
Revisado: 05-02-16
Fun science fiction, with unique journal style narration. The journal style chapters definitely made for pacing that made the book hard to put down. If I have one major gripe with the book, it's that it spent much of the book literally building and then did not really climax as I was hoping. This book is clearly setting things up for future installments. This is fine, so long as I don't have to wait too long for the next book!!
Narration was great, I loved the voice cast and they all did an outstanding job.

Just as good as the first Decker book!
Revisado: 04-25-16
Much like The Memory Man, I loved this book. Amos Decker is such an interesting character, with his obvious memory gift/curse, but also all the other things about his personality that make him unique. I must admit that I figured many things out ahead of there reveal, but that didn't prevent me from enjoying the journey.

Great for runners, great for all
Revisado: 04-18-16
As a dedicated runner, Tom's accounting of his trials during his 'year' really hit the note for me. The books is funny and truly an easy read/listen. I actually listened to it while running and recovering from a hamstring injury and was a great book to remind me of a few things that I personally needed for my rehab. If you are a runner, you should definitely read this. But even if you are not, it is entertaining enough for just about anyone to enjoy.
