Historia
Freemasonry, though not a religion, is essentially religious. Most of its legends and allegories are of a sacred nature; much of it is woven into the structure of Christianity. We have learned to consider our own religion as the only inspired one, and this probably accounts for much of the misunderstanding in the world today concerning the place occupied by Freemasonry in the spiritual ethics of our race. A religion is a divinely inspired code of morals. A religious person is one inspired to nobler living by this code. He is identified by the code, which is his source of illumination.

Historia
Growing up in a deeply evangelical family in the Midwest in the ‘80s and ‘90s, Sarah McCammon was strictly taught to fear God, obey him, and not question the faith. Persistently worried that her gay grandfather would go to hell unless she could reach him, or that her Muslim friend would need to be converted, and that she, too, would go to hell if she did not believe fervently enough, McCammon was a rule-follower. But through it all, she was plagued by fears and deep questions as the belief system she'd been carefully taught clashed with her expanding understanding of the outside world.

this is a book about politics not about religion or spirituality.
Revisado: 09-12-24
this is not at all what I had expected. what I came for was an understanding of the hurts that can happen at church and healing that can happen with the right perspective of Jesus separating from the church. what I got from this book was not that at all. It was very political. not about healing at all. It seemed that she was upset about not being promiscuous as a teenager. It seemed to me that she was too shy as a young child for her own good. It was very pro-abortion. and pro vaccine. none of these things had anything to do with the ways that she sold the book in her podcast interviews. overall I want my time back!

I don't think this woman wanted a family!
Revisado: 08-07-22
I was looking for something helpful. I could not finish this book, it was just a list of complaints and snotty "you are welcomes" to her husband! She sounds upset about having a family! I was looking for tools on how to work together this book was not the answer I actually made me feel aggravated!

Historia
Journalist and screen/life balance expert Catherine Price argues persuasively that our always-on, tech-addicted lifestyles have led us to obsess over intangible concepts such as happiness while obscuring the fact that real happiness lies in the everyday experience of fun. We often think of fun as indulgent, even immature and selfish. We claim to not have time for it, even as we find hours a day for what Price calls Fake Fun—bingeing on television, doomscrolling the news, or posting photos to social media, all in hopes of filling some of the emptiness we feel inside.

Fun book But pushes vaccines at the end
Revisado: 06-24-22
The first part of this book was really good! But in the end part of it she kept on talking about booster shots and trying to make it sound playful! She still has useful information in this book, but the end she leans too far to the left for me! I understand that a lot of people stayed far away from their family and friends during the plandemic. I feel sorry for all these people who missed out on lots of fun and connection during those two years. Time that they can never get back. I myself spent more time with the people that I love during that time! And never covered my smile! if you're trying to have fun why would you cover your smile? Your smile is the first signal that you're having fun!

This book was Divinely brought to me!
Revisado: 01-18-22
I use the name Crystal Clear on social media as well as my birth name is Crystal! I felt inspired to see who else out there uses the same name And after watching a few YouTube videos of Crystal's I soon discovered her book! This is the first book of 2022 for me and I am glad that was! Well worth the time and very inspiring, well written! God used Crystal and her life story as a messenger to touch my heart in a way that is very personal and intimate. It's Crystal Clear that she is Divinely guided and inspired! Thank you for sharing your words in this book! Like you said in the end of the book it's just the beginning, May you go far in this Beautiful life 🙏

Essentialism is more than a time-management strategy or a productivity technique. It is a systematic discipline for discerning what is absolutely essential, then eliminating everything that is not, so we can make the highest possible contribution toward the things that really matter.

Prosperity. It's one of the most dividing words in the church. Some pastors use it to tell their congregations that God will make them all rich, rich, rich! Others spurn the word and insist that true Christlikeness is found in forsaking all worldly riches and possessions. The truth is, both are right - and both are wrong. With refreshing honesty, humor, and keen insight, best-selling author and pastor Kris Vallotton mines the Scriptures in an eye-opening study of what the Bible really says about money, poverty, riches, and wealth.
