Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

A book worth reading
Revisado: 11-07-23
A well told story with quality dialog. A book this well written is getting to be a too rare occurrence. Thank you Mr. Christian for your skill as a writer and Mr Mack for your narration.

Historia
A young man lives among the trees of a primeval forest, raised by a wizened old sage and friend to the faeries and spirits of his home. He bears only half a name—Lien, an ancient word meaning "blade" or "edge"—and no knowledge of his heritage. As he grows, so too does his need for independence and answers. Thus, he begins his adventure, seeking a shattered sword and the truth behind the mysterious mark on his right hand.

I suffered through the writing way too long before I gave up on it. You eventually get to where you just don’t care where the plot is drifting.

Historia
Vex and Vax have always been outsiders. A harsh childhood in the elite elven city of Syngorn quickly taught them not to rely on others. Now, freed from the expectations of their exacting father and the scornful eyes of Syngorn’s elves, the cunning hunter and the conning thief have made their own way in the world of Exandria. The twins have traveled far and experienced great hardship. But with the help of Vex’s quick wit and Vax’s quicker dagger, they’ve always kept ahead of trouble. Now, unknown perils await them in the bustling city of Westruun.

Historia
Magick. The irrefutable truth. Real magick lies within all of us. Dormant. Waiting for the Bold of Soul. The Fearless of Spirit. Waiting to be unleashed again. Waiting for you. Are you ready? Alessandria has learned things in the darkness: she would never be owned by anyone, keep your mouth shut and obey, and the lesson of retribution is a particularly nasty one. And never, ever tell anyone about the shadows. Then...comes the light.

"Meridian Stone" is definantly a read for adults.
Revisado: 10-26-19
"Meridian Stone" is definitely for adults as it contains a plethora of detailed sex scenes. The overall story line is unique and very good. Although, the detail on interior design was unnecessary and at times tedious.
Overall I found it an enjoyable read.

If you haven't listened to this book then drop all the other books in your queue and start.
In my opinion, this is one of the best historically based novels written in the latter 20th century. I enjoyed reading it many years ago and thought I'd "give a listen". I am so glad I did.
An absolutely superb book!

Could not finish it
Revisado: 11-28-17
The writing was so bad that it seemed like a camp movie. The use of poorly chosen adjectives and verbs literally had me groaning out loud. What happened to the editors? Cannot recommend this book.
The series and story line started out with a lot of promise but unfortunately went downhill from there.

Already faster and more powerful than the last 17 species that they have destroyed or subjugated, the Krall have set their sights on humankind. After testing humans on their future home world of Koban and finding them worthy opponents, the Krall start a war of slow extermination with the rest of humanity. The war is intended to last generations as they apply their own version of "natural selection" to cull their weaker warriors in combat, purifying the Krall gene pool with their finest warriors for breeding.
