Alaska: A History begins by examining the region’s geography and the Native peoples who inhabited it for thousands of years before the first Europeans arrived. The Russians claimed northern North America by right of discovery in 1741. During their occupation of “Russian America”, the region was little more than an outpost for fur hunters and traders. When the czar sold the territory to the United States in 1867, nobody knew what to do with “Seward’s Folly”.

If this idiot hates Alaska so much, stop writing about it!

It’s clear this guy hates Alaska and has nothing better to do than complain about it. He sounds more like a whiny liberal than someone that has something important to say. This book is a waste of time and money.

This is an absolutely great book regardless of your side of politics. The book is about much more than politics, it's about a human being and their struggles. I'm a loyal conservative follower of The Five and greatly missed Bob during his absence. Great book Bob and welcome back!
