Horrible narrator
Revisado: 07-03-24
The narrator ruins this book. She whispers the entire thing. How is someone like this chosen to narrate a book. Bizarre!

This is the most ridiculous book. Apparently any book can be published. Lucy Price Lewis is absolutely amazing and I can’t believe she would be willing to narrate such a crap book.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

It’s unfortunate they picked a British narrator to speak in an American accent. Very distracting. Would have been better if she could have spoken freely in her beautiful natural accent. So dumb.

HORRIBLE!!!!
Revisado: 08-16-23
These ratings and reviews can’t be real. This book is ridiculously bad. The narration is abominable. The woman’s voice was so unbearable. Every single word was so dramatic. An entire book of her overly dramatic and sing song tone was beyond obnoxious. I had to speed up her narration x2 just to get through it. The male narrator had a lisp!! Who hires a narrator with a lisp!!?? The story is ridiculous and the whining and complaining all throughout the book got very tiresome. I kept listening because I had to know what the “amazing” twist was…don’t bother. What a waste of time and an audible credit.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Boring
Revisado: 04-04-23
I’m starting to believe the reviews on audible aren’t real. There are so many good reviews for this unbelievably boring “thriller”. Not sure how this can be called a thriller. There should be a drinking game for how many times Matthew was called “The Boy”. Why not use his name, or him or he? So strange. Bored out of my mind and audible wouldn’t let me return it so I forced myself to finish it.
