Kai Azer is the love of my life.
Revisado: 07-10-24
So I just fell even more in love with Kai than I did in Powerles. I’m telling you, this book boyfriend is the love of my life.
Lauren Roberts has such a beautiful way with words. This is the type of book that makes you want to pick up annotating even if you’re not that type of reader because the amount of beautiful dialogue is insane.
The banter between Kai and Paedyn is just as effortless as in the first book and the chemistry is sizzling.
The plot twist in the end was a bit predictable but still made me want to scream. I’m now sitting in agony waiting for Fearless to come out.
I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Like all the Bedwyn men, Aidan has a reputation for cool arrogance. But this proud nobleman also possesses a loyal, passionate heart - and it is this fierce loyalty that has brought Colonel Lord Aidan to Ringwood Manor to honor a dying soldier's request. Having promised to comfort and protect the man's sister, Aidan never expected to find a headstrong, fiercely independent woman who wants no part of his protection, nor did he expect the feelings this beguiling creature would ignite in his guarded heart.

a bit too dry for me.
Revisado: 04-04-24
I did not finish the book, while the narration was amazing, I found that the story itself ended up lacking. It didn't have that charming comedic wit that I usually enjoy in these types of novels, for example Julia Quinn usually executes this perfectly. I don't think I will read any other book in this series for none of the characters spoke to me and like I said it was in general jut too dry in every sense of the word.

Historia
Varya lives in the shadows. As a tomb raider, it's easier that way. Known for obtaining the unobtainable, she risks life and limb to provide for her small desert town: a magical chalice with never-ending water, an amulet that heals, a map that shows where all the other magical objects are. However, the last stolen treasure came with a problem—the Demon King, Greed. When she finds herself saddled with an injured demon, tracked by a horde of warriors, and effectively lost in the desert, well, what's a girl to do?

decent story -awful narration
Revisado: 02-19-24
the story was decent but I'd probably enjoy it even more if it weren't for the awful narration. neither narrator suited this book. Male narrator you could atleast get passed but the female was just plain horrible. she sounded like an ai and it was super off-putting.

Not memorable
Revisado: 02-04-24
Very bland story with flat characters. Especially the fmc. There literally nothing interesting about the characters or their personalities. I also felt zero chemistry. The amount of times I rolled my eyes in this book. I also spaced out several times because I felt like nothing interesting was going on. I don’t even remember the sex scenes. Sorry but it’s a no for me. Hopefully someone else will enjoy it though so don’t let my review discourage you to read this and support the author, we all have different tastes after all.

Good but a little underwhelming
Revisado: 02-03-24
I liked the book, especially the first part of the book. It was great and kept me invested. I don’t know exactly what it was but the closer I got to the end, the less I felt that spark in the story. I kept waiting for something to happen, that amazing wow factor that SJM usually so flawlessly gives us, but something is missing. Also I do feel like some characters stories wasn’t tied up in this book which makes suspect that perhaps SJM has plans for other books in the cc world in the future.
With that being said, the book was good. Not as good as CC2 but still good nonetheless.

I'm a trained assassin. Enlisted by the Fae Corps and instructed to kill, there is no place in my life for a fated mate. Then Gia crashes into my life. Flashing eyes, luscious lips that beg to be kissed. One whiff of her sugary scent, and I know she is mine. But she's human, and no way can she withstand the mating practices of the Fae.

lack of depth
Revisado: 01-08-24
I only managed to read the first book. the entire story and character lacked depth and the sexscenes wasn't very well written, I found myself getting bored and cringing several times during the book. it feels like the author didn't have any real direction with the story, like she wrote it just because but didn't really have any story to tell.

Historia
Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

Revisado: 01-03-24
Such a good book. I was enthralled from beginning to end. It’s got all the same vibes as the ya fantasies I grew up with like Harry Potter and hunger games. Loved that it was a dual pov and the characters were entertaining. Looking forwforward to book two!

Historia
Death is meant to come on a chariot of broken dreams or in the dark trenches of a storm, not in love letters and gifts. He did not take my soul when I was meant to die. He did not want it all the other times that I've offered it to him on a silver platter. Yet, time and time again, he reminds me that I am his: His night monster, his dark love, his perfect other. Death was the only thing keeping me alive. He watches me from his corner, taunts me with sweet messages, marks my body with his touch as I sleep. He took the people that I love away from me.

Great spice but….
Revisado: 11-10-23
So I found this on booktok and have waited a really long time for this book. I was super excited to finally read it and found the premise extremely intriguing.
However it was a let down. It was way too short and the story itself just felt underwhelming. It had so much potential but it just didn’t live up to my expectations.
The narration and spice were def 10/10 though 👌

Awful narration and lacking plot
Revisado: 09-28-23
The narration was awful. I have no idea how the book could be so long with such a lacking plot.
The idea and concept is great but the execution wasn’t the best. It’s not the worst book I’ve read but it wasn’t good either, it’s sad because I expected so much more after all the hype. I will however give the next book a chance to see if it gets any better.

Bad female narrator
Revisado: 09-18-23
Once again, amazing story, not as good as the first but still very good. A little not more spice in this book but I still wouldn’t rank it more than 4 out 10 because the scenes aren’t really there to be spicy and more romantic, which is completely fine. I like the complexity in these stories and that it’s a realistic phase. I hate when they fall inlove instantly. Attraction in first sight is fine but love at first sight is a big ick for me so these books are really tickling my slowburn heart that craves a good build up.
As for the narration, I was so happy to find Lee Samuels narrating since he’s one of my absolute faves, I could listen to that man’s voice all day😍
I was however disappointed to find that they used the same awful narrator for the female part? She might work for other type of books but she doesn’t fit here. She sounds way too old and boring. Although I do think she did a little bit better job this time by reading a bit faster than she did in the last book. It’s still not good enough for her voice to fit the character. She just sounds too mature. Sorry not sorry.
