Historia
Inspired by her research for the hit podcast Ultra, Rachel Maddow charts the rise of a wild American strain of authoritarianism that has been alive on the far-right edge of our politics for the better part of a century. Before and even after our troops had begun fighting abroad in World War II, a clandestine network flooded the country with disinformation aimed at sapping the strength of the U.S. war effort and persuading Americans that our natural alliance was with the Axis, not against it.

Historia
Is it possible for an American Vice President to carry out a criminal enterprise inside the White House and have nobody remember? To have one of the most brazen political bribery scandals in American history play out before the country while nobody’s paying attention? In her first original podcast, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow goes back 45 years to dig into a story that got overshadowed in its day. There’s intrigue. Corruption. Envelopes of cash delivered to the White House. It’s a story that’s not well known, but it probably should be. Especially today. Bag Man. A Rachel Maddow podcast ...

Now, demonstrating her majestic command of this story, Haberman reveals in full the depth of her understanding of the 45th president himself, and of what the Trump phenomenon means.

loved the book - hated the narration
Revisado: 03-05-23
I love Maggie Haberman and have always enjoyed her writing. I was very disappointed in the narration of this book. It took me three tries to get through and I was tempted to just buy the book to finish it. She is much more lively and engaging in her interviews and TV appearances. THAT Maggie was MIA for this audiobook. I hope next time she hires a professional narrator.

In 2004, Doctor Damien Howard's 131st birthday celebration took an unexpected turn. His personal SETI project detected an extraterrestrial signal directed at Earth. Unfortunately, Dr. Howard's long-hoped-for communication contained a message of dire warning rather than greeting. In 1945, humanity had become a species of galactic interest and was given 100 years to address the issue.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Loved Rosario dawson. she could work on some of her accents but I still loved her narration. if you are expecting "The Martian" or "Hail Mary", this isn't it. it's a nice story with enough surprises to keep you turning pages but doesn't get too bogged down in unnecessary details. I enjoyed the book.

Saw the movie - LOVED the book!
Revisado: 02-13-22
I almost passed on this book because of all the complaints about Will Wheaton's narration. I'm really glad that I didn't pay attention to the negatives. I can't make a comparison because I never heard the RC Bray version of this book but I was not disappointed with Wheaton's reading. I've heard other books narrated by him and he always does a good job . In fact, I rather like his narration. Once I got started I could hardly put it down. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
Lesson for me - don't let a bunch of negative opinions scare you away from a good book!

Historia
A family is murdered as they sleep. FBI Special Agent Nina Guerrera and her new team are tasked with determining whether there is any link between this attack and another triple homicide from four years earlier and more than 2,000 miles away. In the process, they’ll discover a serial killer so cunning that his grisly trail of death spanning nearly three decades has gone undetected. Each crime scene reminds Nina of the ghostly Latin folktale of La Llorona, which terrified her when she was an abandoned and vulnerable child. Now it’s back to haunt her.
