Mulan retelling done beautifully!!
Revisado: 07-30-24
such an incredible story, I loved to retelling with the focus being shifted from duty to selfish desire and the consequences of action because of it. definitely an instant classic.

Historia
Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

it's very slow and has a sad ending
Revisado: 11-27-23
The story moves very slowly, it was a struggle to keep my attention on the story. Also, the POV changes and time jumps make it very hard to keep the story straight. I thought it was good, but overly complicated.

Good Story but slightly predictable.
Revisado: 11-16-23
This book is full of adventure and mystery! It is a well written book, but I did find some of the scenario kind of predictable. . still, I am interested in hearing the next book. The narrators voice didn't work well with what I imagined the main character should sound like. it made it hard to stay focused on the story.

it was okay
Revisado: 06-13-23
The narrator's pace of reading was really weird and very flat to me. The story was pretty good but there was some redundancy with the expression of the main character's thoughts on Motherhood. overall though it was pretty good though.

Great Story but slow start.
Revisado: 12-17-22
The story was excellent! I personally felt like it was a beauty and the beast tale emersed in Faerie Lore, and wonderfully done. The first few chapters were slow though so it was a little hard to get caught up into it. But, once you're captivated, it's hard to stop listening! Highly recommend this book!

Great Story
Revisado: 07-24-22
I loved this book! I enjoyed how the author added on to the depth of both Anakin and Obi-Wan's character. I also enjoyed how he portrayed the shifted relationship from padawan and master to the brotherhood spoken about the brotherhood spoken about in the movies and how this shift adds to their bond and mutual respect before Anakin's fall to the dark side. It was nice to have more of Anakin's and Padme's relationship revealed too, this also added more depth to Anakin that you don't get from the swift storytelling of the films. Jonathan Davis does a great job performing the characters as he reads this book!
