Historia
Civil War tore across the Union Empire, leaving countless dead in its wake. It was a war started by one man once beloved by the Empire. His betrayal still lingers in the memory of those who lived through it. Decades later, his son, Felix Drake, is a Warden tasked with both protecting the ruling members of the Union Empire and its Council and bringing those powerful and influential people to justice should they break the law.

Hoped for better
Revisado: 04-11-25
This missed the mark for me. It rambled a lot and I found my mind wandering...not following the characters and their motivations. The story is too convoluted and kind of zig zags all over the place. Sadly, I kept checking to see how much longer the story was and wanted it to tie up and end with a bang-but no. Some of the performance was a bit over the top too. TGR used to be my favorite performer but it seems his range of voicing has shortened and a few character's voices were quite grating to me. Too bad because I have already bought book 2. I can only hope it gets better...

Historia
Dante, Blays, and Gladdic's final effort to defeat him has failed. Within weeks—if not days—Rale will be destroyed. One last hope remains. They can't kill Nolost, but they may be able to eject him from Rale before he can complete his work. To do so, though, they'll have to destroy a world themselves: Olastar, the home of the portals that link all other places together.

Worst book of the series - hard pass!
Revisado: 03-13-25
Why oh why didn't I listen to the reviewers that actually gave this an honest evaluation instead of the fandom gushers?? Terrible, just terrible. I am still slogging through, at chapter 13, with 14 (!!) hours left to go. Ugh! Stick a needle in my eye, I just dont think I can go on. Normally, TGR can make even a mediocre book very good given his excellent narration and performing capabilities, but this is just bad...quality wise. Poor audio including fluctuations and jarring insertions of obvious re-recorded parts. As others stated, it sounds like it was phoned in, not edited well nor polished.
The story has become monotonous, repetitive and campy. New worlds have been built supposedly to thrill and tintilate the reader but they are silly and just a device of the author. Cut through the fat, the verbose and the nonsensical scenes and we might have a tighter, more engaging novel. Not this thing. This series started to dive at book 5, and has to be put out of its (our) misery. Sorry EWR, but the lipstick on this pig is just a smeared mess.

Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Drop off from the rest in the Bob series.
Revisado: 01-08-25
Gosh, this one was just thick. The author has gotten far too obtuse and spacey-timey with the theoretical and futuristic world building in this series. I found it hard to enjoy what could have been a very good continuation of the trials and tribulations in the Bobiverse. Such a disappointment, and I found my mind wandering off. I scratched my head too much wondering what the heck D E Taylor was talking about and why he had to be so astrophysical /technical. He sounded like he wanted to impress the scientific community. There are so many Bob/Bill/Howard/Skippy… etc sequences being told that are too slow in connecting a cohesive plot that it just got frustrating. And unfortunately, Ray Porter does not have his usual extraordinary range of voicing for the various Bobs that it proves to be an added struggle to follow the timelines. Sigh!

Historia
It was easy for Elizabeth. She married the man she loved, bore him two children and made a home for him which was the envy of their friends. It was harder for Ruth. She married Elizabeth’s son and then found that, somehow, she could never quite measure up. Isolation, deceit and betrayal fill the gaps between the two individual women and between their different worlds. In this complex thriller, Philippa Gregory deploys all her insight into what women want and what women fear, as Ruth confronts the shifting borders of her own sanity.

Monotonous
Revisado: 12-21-24
This could’ve been a much better story if the editor had cut out a lot of the minutia and detail about the daily goings on of this poor mother’s miserable existence within a toxic household. Had to do a lot of fast forwarding. Ending was a nice twist and made it a relativelyenjoyable novel.

Edge of your seat thriller
Revisado: 12-18-24
Very good high-tech conspiracy novel up to Eisler’s typical standards. One nitpick is Barry’s narration for this book is not up to his usual performance abilities . He drops his voice down far too much in too many places so that the reader is turning up the volume constantly. He needs to maintain an appropriate volume and inflection for the whole novel, even if he is at a point where the character is whispering. Other than that, great novel and I will eagerly continue reading his stories. I do recommend this.

Thirteen years ago, Jori Trahan’s boyfriend vanished without a trace. Now, after moving back home to Alabama to care for her ailing grandmother and autistic brother, she comes face-to-face with the deadly mystery behind his disappearance. Jori has a rare form of synesthesia, meaning she can “hear” colors; to her, tones of voice are as unique as fingerprints. With the help of this ability and a sympathetic cop, Jori comes dangerously close to uncovering the truth. But those responsible will go to any length - including murder - to keep their dark secrets buried.

Too meandering
Revisado: 10-23-24
Just couldn’t get into the characters . There was too much internal thought and disjointed flow between the characters. I was a bit bored and wanted to reach the end. Kind of far fetched ending but I suppose it was a decent twist.

Not bad not great, just had more potential than it lived up to. Too much exposition. Excruciating elaboration of detail that could have been avoided and made the story tempo and flow better. Good, unobtrusive sound effects added positively to the telling. Narrator adequate and easy to listen to, but sounded like he had marbles in his mouth at times.

I just can’t!
Revisado: 08-17-24
Full disclosure, this was a DNF for me. I made it 3 1/2 hours and just couldn’t stand the immature and stilted dialogue. Seems like this was written by AI, and not worth my time- imagine 85 hours of this drivel. The cartoon character delivery by the narrator, doesn’t help things either. Hard pass on this one!

All he wants to do is get high, relax with a good sandwich, and watch a meteor shower with his neighborhood crush, Jen. Revisado: 07-30-24
Fast paced and unique. Demons from hell, the devil, angels, and PTSD - who else could write a great novel that could easily intertwine such craziness? Gets a bit gory in parts, but that’s Jeremy. A lot of fun, and definitely leads to a follow up series. RC Bray is just the man!
