Absolutely fell in love with all the characters
Revisado: 08-30-23
It could be a little confusing with all the POV and jumps, but I feel the. Pics of each character quickly comes through and is so uniquely themselves that it isn't so confusing you're getting lost.

Historia
Hugh d'Ambray, Preceptor of the Iron Dogs, Warlord of the Builder of Towers, served only one man. Now his immortal, nearly omnipotent master has cast him aside. Hugh is a shadow of the warrior he was, but when he learns that the Iron Dogs, soldiers who would follow him anywhere, are being hunted down and murdered, he must make a choice: to fade away or to be the leader he was born to be. Hugh knows he must carve a new place for himself and his people, but they have no money, no shelter, and no food, and the necromancers are coming. Fast.

Is it just me or did he just give Andrea an accent?

Is it just me or did he just give Andrea an accent?
Revisado: 07-25-18
There’s a lot of issues with the voice actor with me. One of the main issues was that he says Hughs last name many different ways, and never correctly. The main characters own last name..... Secondly, he mispronounced a lot of other names throughout. Another issue, early in the book there was little difference between the two POV and was hard to follow. It wasn’t till pretty far into the book he figured out just how he wanted to voice Elara. I had to keep going back a few times to catch the switch.
The story is absolutely brilliant and I can’t wait for the next in this series, as well as the next Kate Daniels. I just wish they’re was some consistency with pronunciations through the two series audiobooks.

Historia
Quentin Coldwater is brilliant but miserable. A senior in high school, he's still secretly preoccupied with a series of fantasy novels he read as a child, set in a magical land called Fillory. Imagine his surprise when he finds himself unexpectedly admitted to a very secret, very exclusive college of magic in upstate New York, where he receives a thorough and rigorous education in the craft of modern sorcery.

Q is the most annoying person.
Revisado: 02-01-16
I started this book after watching ththe first two episodes of the TV show in syfy. I loved the concept and I loved the characters. I could have lived with the book being as different as it was, but I couldn't get passed how annoying Q was. he is such a horrible person that it was difficult to get through at multiple points.
The story itself wasn't bad, though the pacing felt off to me. It felt like a lot of back story and very slow build up to what's actually a pretty great climax. I haven't made up my mind if I'm going to read the next books yet, I'm sure I will at some point. I'd really have to be bored or heavily persuaded.
