Historia
Using a travel guide format, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee acts as tour guide extraordinaire, describing and critiquing every aspect of this territory she knows so well: its people (young and old, male and female), familiar phrases ("purl this, darn that"), strange beliefs, currency (skein trading), etiquette, holidays (any sale day at the local yarn shop), and customs. She notes important dates in knitting history and celebrates unsung knitting heroes.

I often times listen to Audible books while knitting, and this one is a good one.
I recommend this Audible book with a 10 out of 10 in all categories. Unfortunately, I can only rate it 5 stars or less.
I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Join Clara Parkes on a cross-country adventure and meet a cast of characters that includes the shepherds, dyers, and countless workers without whom our knitting needles would be empty, our mills idle, and our feet woefully cold. Travel the country with her as she meets a flock of Saxon Merino sheep in upstate New York, tours a scouring plant in Texas, visits a steamy Maine dyehouse, helps sort freshly shorn wool on a working farm, and learns how wool fleece is measured, baled, shipped, and turned into skeins.

Historia
Biking from Oregon to Maine is no small feat, especially for two newly retired women who carry everything they need for three months, powered only by the strength of their legs and a desire for adventure. Alice Honeywell and Bobbi Montgomery invite listeners to follow their ride by bicycle across the United States, as they face scorching sun, driving rain, buffeting winds, equipment failures, killer hills, wild fires, and even a plague of grasshoppers.

If only a different person narrated this book, I would have given it a better review.

I am a fan of long distance bicycle touring, traveling and also audio books. Have been for many decades. I have read or listened to all bicycle related touring physical books and audio books that I can find. This audio book, Across America by Bicycle, is the hardest one to listen to that I have ever encountered. That voice is so irritating. I have tried listening to it many times, and not been able to get through the audible book. It’s tragic really, as there are not enough bicycle touring, traveling or adventuring books published, and even less narrated so we can listen to them.
