Action!!
Revisado: 07-24-20
This one is a cliff hanger... and I’m so desperate for the next book, I’m considering just getting the printed version (even though I have NO TIME for reading). It had been a while between the last audible book and this one and I wondered if I should go back and refresh myself on what had happened, but that was not necessary. The history was so perfectly sprinkled about that I was able to listen to it feeling like I had just finished the last book. I am completely loving this series. The protagonist characters are endearing, and the “bad guys” are oh so bad. And the action, mystery, fantasy, are all up my ally. Keep them coming! :)

Historia
Thirteen weird and wondrous tales populate this anthology by the author of the AIRSHIP DAEDALUS pulp adventure series. Spanning a 30-year catalog and often satirizing the 20th century ideal of the nuclear family and social mores, Primordial Soup Kitchen is a collection of the stranger side of Todd Downing's short fiction.

Fun & Entertaining!
Revisado: 11-04-19
I drive 20 min almost every time I get in the car— I have never listened to short stories before, but I loved being able to get a whole story in on each leg of my trips. The stories were all really fun. A mix of styles, but over all was somewhat Twilight Zone -ish. I love the mystery, the unexpected turns of events, and I was entertained through the whole collection of stories. I also love getting to hear an author read their own stories. ❤️

Historia
Beloved author Elizabeth Gilbert returns to fiction with a unique love story set in the New York City theater world during the 1940s. Told from the perspective of an older woman as she looks back on her youth with both pleasure and regret (but mostly pleasure), City of Girls explores themes of female sexuality and promiscuity, as well as the idiosyncrasies of true love. In 1940, nineteen-year-old Vivian Morris has just been kicked out of Vassar College, owing to her lackluster freshman-year performance.

Flawless
Revisado: 08-27-19
I have not read a story in years that transported me like this one did. It was perfectly well written. Although I could not necessarily relate to the contexts the main character found herself in, I could absolutely relate to her emotional journey. I cried when it ended. And like a good love relationship, I cannot imagine finding another book to read that could touch me so deeply. Also— I LOVED the reader’s voice. It was a perfect package.

I can’t wait for Book 3 to be available!
Revisado: 07-25-19
While Book 1 felt like intimate character development within the context of a very fun story. Book 2 was non-stop adventure. I absolutely love the ideas that weave in and out of this story... The hidden realm, the magic of plants (for better and worse), enlightenment, surprise allies, and of course that the good guys keep winning. I didn’t want it to stop. I can’t wait for Book 3 now.

Awesome Adventure Story with just enough romance
Revisado: 07-01-19
This story was right up my ally. A tiny bit sci-fi/fantasy, mysticism, adventure, romance, culture/travel, history, ... satisfied me in all the ways a novel might. It always takes me a chapter or two to get acquainted with the characters of any book. But this one was easy to slip into. And the adventure was unexpected. It’s family friendly too and I think teens would like it as much as I did (at 50). I always appreciate a book that is written well enough that it doesn’t have to rely on “shock value” to keep someone reading. Very fun. And I can’t wait for the sequel.
