We always have known certain things mentioned in the book, but we never had all the details, facts, and depth that was given. This book makes conversations undeniable, if they are denied, it’s out of ignorance or fear. This book brings your mind to new thinking and your perception of the US is changed even more. This is a book that should be in history classes across the country, it’s the truth of US history. Black people are US history and shouldn’t be treated and alienated as if they’re not. This book is inspiring and saddening at the same time, as it draws a kind of new respect for elders.
