Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

Great story with interesting plot twists
Revisado: 01-23-21
So good to read a story that is not so Western biased. So real realities in the book expressed in fiction, but really harsh. The stories seems to be a real look at a world that has gone bad, with a single thread through the whole story.

Historia
In Happy Derren Brown explores changing concepts of happiness - from the surprisingly modern wisdom of the Stoics and Epicureans in classical times right up until today, when the self-help industry has attempted to claim happiness as its own. He shows how many of self-help’s suggested routes to happiness and success – such as positive thinking, self-belief and setting goals – can be disastrous to follow and, indeed, actually cause anxiety. Happy aims to reclaim happiness and to enable us to appreciate the good things in life, in all their transient glory.

Good summary and perspective of the western philosophy towards “happiness”
Revisado: 01-23-19
If you are looking for a western perspective of philosophies of happiness, acceptance and all things stoic then this is a great book. I would recommend it to anyone that is interested in a good summary of what western man has philosophize around the meaning of life, luck and happiness. Darren does appear to enjoy the performance too, making the listening never dull.

Good summary on the quest to enlightenment
Revisado: 02-04-15
If you are also looking at how to enlighten yourself by quietening the mind then this is a great read. It helps you understand that the path is not a light switch for most people. It is a good summary of the movement in America so far. There is little direct advice, just snippets.
