I loved every chapter of this book. I liked how each chapter swapped back and forth between the 2 main characters and their point of view. Great story that kept me entertained and hungry for more.

My husband and I are the adoptive mother and father to an eleven year old daughter with special needs who has changed our lives for the better. I fell in love with Max and his mother while reading this book. I can only pray that we will never forget what a blessing she has been and being her mother has been the hardest yet most rewarding job of our lives. She is slowly teaching us how to dance.

A book about love, heartache, and strength

This book has so many similarities to my own life as a mother of two beautiful and amazing daughters who were raised in a home where they witnessed domestic violence. I woke up one day and realized that I was teaching my daughters how to be treated by their future boyfriends and or husbands. I found the courage to escape one day and it was the best decision of our lives. 2 years later I remarried a wonderful man who was able to adopt my 2 daughters and experience the true meaning of a family. Now they are both married to amazing men who worship them and they are beginning their journeys as wives and mothers. My husband and I are extremely proud of them. I haven’t read a book that resembled my life as closely as this one did. Thank you Colleen for having the courage to write a book that mimics the lives of so many women and children. May God give the mother’s the courage to break free and raise their children in a home full of unconditional love.

Heartbreaking

Heartbreaking, Honest, & Heroic

This book was emotional and raw. A soul wrenching story about a family who suffers one of the most horrific types of abuse and trauma behind the scenes while living and performing in front of cameras. A resilient young lady who escapes and rescues her family from Hell on Earth.

Thank you for writing this book to in some way possibly help us abandoned parents learn that when our children grow up and start a family of their own, we must continue on with ours. This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever been through and I pray daily for that spiritual awakening.

Not what I was expecting

This book was a man asking Dolly questions and she answered then. It was a little disappointing. She barely even spoke about her and Kenny’s friendship and I don’t recall her mentioning his passing. She very quickly mentioned her Goddaughter Miley Cyrus. The book was just ok for me.
