A wonderful book, heartbreaking and happy
Revisado: 05-14-23
Read beautifully by Richard. Some laugh out loud moments followed by some devastating moments. Richards emotions are raw. A book about all of our relationships and how nothing is forever. Grab a pocket full of happiness when you can.

Outstanding - a wonderful dive into history
Revisado: 01-10-22
Another wonderful book from David McCullough, it is a jem!!. An amazing deep dive into history and incredibly relevant to what a president should be today. Truman was a man with dignity, intelligence and decency and no ego - unlike a recent past president! Also the stance of the Democratic party in the 40's in comparison to where they are today and to how far they have drifted to the left. To understand American and world politics after ww2 you MUST read/listen to this book, its an education. Truman is my new hero along with Adams.

Couldn’t put this book down
Revisado: 11-03-21
A wonderful book, an amazing guy with an incredible story. We are led to believe that all special operators are mean killing machines but Ollie come across like a warrior and a gentleman. I think young people today need positive role models like this, more positive reinforcement rather than the victim mentality that seems so prevalent in society today.

Revisado: 10-07-20
I got this book after listening to the Jocko Podcast, Its not something I thought I would be into but how wrong I was!!! It is an amazing book and the narrator Brian Nishii really brings it to life, I am going to listen to it again in a few weeks as I really loved the characters. I'm delighted I found this book.
1 problem.... yet again Audible did not include the chapter names, its a very long book and I had to search for where I left off numerous times. Please Audible PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add the CHAPTER NAMES!

Every leader must be ready and willing to take charge, to make hard, crucial calls for the good of the team and the mission. Something much more difficult to understand is that in order to be a good leader, one must also be a good follower. This is a dichotomy - a Dichotomy of Leadership. It is, as authors Jocko Willink and Leif Babin explained in their best-selling first audiobook, Extreme Ownership, “Simple, Not Easy”.
