Mark, you know I love ya man. And the beer invite is always open if you ever get to Spokane. John, you are a hell of a story teller, I have listened to all of your books in the new World Series. Awesome stuff. And I could listen to Sean Runnette read a shopping list with great enthusiasm. With all that being said, after listening to all the shrouded world books, well, it’s like, I love peanut butter and crackers. I also love tuna with mayo on crackers. LOVE both. But don’t think both would be good on the same cracker. I listened to the series 3 times, thinking that I was being silly, cause, like I said, on paper, the series should be the best in the world. But, for me, it was like peanut butter and tuna. Still love ya guys. Ray Harper

Historia
Narrated by Emmy Award–winning actor Martin Sheen, The Home Front: Life in America During World War II takes listeners into the lives of Americans at home—part of the Greatest Generation—who supported the war effort and sustained the country during wartime. The war brought immediate, life-changing shifts: the rationing of meat, dairy products, and sugar; an explosion of war-related jobs; and, despite mixed signals, a greater role for women working outside the home.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Awesome stories!!
Revisado: 05-08-17
I have listened to a lot of alien and space books. They, normally, are good, but, for the most part, are all the same. These though, these are WAY better. Its like an everyday guy caught up in this scenario, and he makes the best of it. My absolute favorite character has to be Skippy, the smart ass AI. There isnt one dull moment in these stories. I highly recommend anybody to read or listen to these books.

Historia
As the two largest, most powerfully equipped naval fleets in history move slowly toward each other near Islas Piedras - an American missile site in the Indian Ocean that threatens Russia's grip on the Middle East - two men stand in the darkened control rooms of their ships. David Charles and Alex Kupinsky are worried because, as the admirals of these fleets, they may be responsible for all-out nuclear war. They are also concerned because once, a long time ago, they were the best of friends.

I tried
Revisado: 10-23-16
I started this book a few months go, but couldn't finish it. It feels like it was written by a 9th grade, hormone raging boy. So, I tried a second time. I very rarely give bad reviews, but jeez. The premise of the story was pretty good, but, to my way of thinking, poorly executed.

Historia
More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to Earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers - men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

In an apocalypse, there is definitely a beginning where mistakes are made and the seeds of evil are allowed to sprout and take shape. However, an end is not so certain. Once an apocalypse occurs, not even death is certain. Sometimes, death is only the beginning.

Odd, but awesome!!
Revisado: 11-12-15
Most zombie apocalypse books pick up after a lot of people have been infected, and the apocalypse is well underway. And that is fine, I love them too. But this one starts at patient 0. And its an awesome start. Love this book, and hopefully, it will be a long series. The author is great, and the narrator is one of the best I have heard.

It took a while, but I love this series.
Revisado: 11-06-15
When I started this series, honestly, I, at first, didnt really care for it. So I only got thru half of the first book. It was in no way the fault of the author or narrator. I just didnt have the time that this series deserves, to listen to. One day, I decided to start over with the first book. I am extremely happy I did!! Mr. Achord is another great master of the zombie genre. He ranks right up there with my absolute favorite, Mark Tufo. And the narrator, Graham Halstead, is awesome. The only problem I have, is waiting for the next one.(please tell me theres gonna be another!!)

Revisado: 09-29-15
I have listened to plenty of apocalypse/end of the world stories, and I gotta say, this one is the most "realistic" one I have listened to. the author really did his homework it appears. The narrator is really easy to listen to, and uses plenty of inflection. Altogether, an awesome combination! I will definitely be looking for books by this author, and for the first time, actively look for titles based solely on the narrator.
