Where does Pippi Longstocking rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

My 6 year old loves this book and always chooses to listen to it when it is her turn to pick.

What did you like best about this story?

She loves listening to the naughty antics of Pippi Longstocking.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

All my girls laugh when they hear this story.

Would you listen to Curious George Goes Camping (Unabridged) again? Why?

My 3.5 year old was recently introduced to audio books and she can`t listen to enough of them. This story is wonderfully told and she loves to listen to it again and again. We also have the book at home and she enjoys following the story along in the book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My daughter loves George and wishes she could be like him.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator brings a lot of emotion and drama to the story. She speaks very slowly and clearly so it is easy for little children to understand and follow along.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My daughter was smiling and giggling throughout the story.

We can`t wait to hear the rest of the Curious George books!

Would you listen to The Mystery of the Star Ruby again? Why?

My 9 year old daughter enjoyed listening to this mystery. She loves the Boxcar series and would love to listen to it again since the story is well told.

Did Aimee Lilly do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes, the audio book is easy to follow and understand.

We look forward to listening to the rest of the Boxcar books.

Where does Green Eggs and Ham rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

My 3.5 year old daughter loves this book and calls it her favourite.

What other book might you compare Green Eggs and Ham to and why?

All the Dr. Seuss books have been so delightfully narrated.

What does Jason Alexander bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings so much entertainment to the audio book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

My daughter loves to hear this story over and over again.

Abridged but great!

My daughter (almost 5 years old) loved listening to all the stories in this collection. Hearing Roald Dahl narrate the stories himself was a special treat -- I really think it made the stories more enjoyable to listen to. Even though the stories are abridged, they were a delight to hear. My daughter sat for a straight 3 hours listening to them and she only let me turn it off after I promised I would turn it on again the next day!

Wonderful dramatization

My four year old daughter loves to listen to the dramatized series of Narnia. She has listened to this particular program countless times and has learned many passages off by heart. Each time she listens to it she is fascinated by something different. We are looking forward to listening to the entire series!

Engaging but lacks theoretical depth

Great narration. Engaging mix of history and theory. Sweeping in scope. Enjoyable in style. However, for people already familiar with the basics of science, the content does not have as much to offer by way of theory. On a personal note, I found the section on fossil discoveries very enjoyable and full of interesting anecdotes.

A treat complemeting author's previous works

After listening to engaging works from Will Durant like "Story of Philosophy" and "Heroes Of History," it was a treat to listen to the intellectual bring it all together and share his personal views on history. In particular, it was striking to here Durant's attempt to demonstrate how the cycles of history relate to the changing moral fiber within societies.

Admirable breadth

The book offers an admirable sweep of the Arab world's history. Slightly academic in style, and thus a little dense, but, nevertheless, well worth the listen. The text offers an overall positive outlook of the Arab peoples' accomplishments through the centuries - critics may argue: "respectable, but a little too positive." Judge for yourself.
