Historia
Kita, the God of Evil, is running out of time. She must unite the galaxy against Aven’s oppressive domination to free her daughter from the deadly Aven slave mines. Kita’s task is made harder by a broken body and her partner cheating—no one throws a brokenhearted tantrum like the God of Evil.

Loving this series
Revisado: 03-24-25
I cannot get enough of this series. I know Kita's gonna have her immature moments and the Angels are gonna get into fights. But it's that blend of chaos, romance, action, and sci-fi that I've been living for. We get to see the Aurorians' homeworld in this one and a couple of characters make comebacks. Looking forward to more, as always.

Historia
In the daunting peaks of Razor's Mountains, someone has twisted the war cats into hideous meat vegetables, slaughtering and sending them to feed Ravager armies. It's enough to unsettle even Kita's stomach. But she refuses to relent until the war cats and their beautiful and alluring queen, Snowy, are free and have their vengeance.

Excellent performance
Revisado: 02-17-23
The narrator really made this story come alive. I especially loved Snowy's and the Arconians' accents, but there were many other characters that were fun to listen to. I enjoyed the relationship between Snowy and Kita. And Kita's characterization in this story was great--fallen angel, protector of the innocent, yet plagued with a bloodthirsty berserking ability that leaves her exhausted and vulnerable.

Historia
Kita has a problem—if her day wasn’t bad enough. After being unexpectedly selected as Junior Commander of the futuristic Legion, Kita can’t wait to leave. However, her mother reveals Kita is the heiress to a powerful title in Arcone and insists Kita claim it before she leaves in a Proving Ritual of skill and honor. Kita was the famed Angel of Yorq, champion of the dueling circuit. The ritual should be easy. Now, she finds she’s gravely miscalculated the purpose of this fight. It’s not a duel of skill—but combat. She’s never experienced a battlefield, only the city streets.

Well done
Revisado: 05-26-22
Birthright is the beginning of the story of Kita the fallen angel. This Ascension series explains Kita's origins and the reason for her bloodlust. She has a berserking ability that makes her a fierce assassin and warrior. It also affects her emotions until she eventually learns to control it. This series is set in a medieval-style world with lords and ladies, knights etc. The next series, Game of the Gods, takes place after Kita has become immortal and has grown into her "fallen angel" nickname. It takes place in a larger universe and alien characters are added to the mix.
Kita is not the most likeable character but she is certainly one of the most complex. Despite her evil qualities, there are lines even she won't cross and she is incredibly loyal to those who stand by her. I would recommend all Kita books to anyone who enjoys plenty of action and sci-fi. They're reminiscent of some of the best anime series. You don't have to be LGBTQ+ to really enjoy these books (and while this book doesn't delve as much into Kita's relationships, the next books will).
For the voice performance specifically: I loved it! The voice actress did an excellent job and even did the Scottish accent of the Arconians. Well done.
