Historia
In Campfire Stories: Narrow Escapes & More Close Calls, storytellers take us from Florida to the Northern Rockies to the Arctic Ocean with wild and true stories, a reminder that the natural world is rugged and unpredictable. Including stories from Steven Rinella and Clay Newcomb, and spearfishing champion Kimi Werner, this immersive audio collection also features tales from listeners who survived falling through the ice, gunshot and arrowhead wounds, hand-to-hoof combat with a deer, and a spearfisherman who made the best shot of his life to save a friend from certain death.

Something different!
Revisado: 08-08-22
I am a 'frequent listener', and it is a monthly stress to find titles that interest me before my book credits expire. i end up getting stuck in one genre or another, and everything seems tiresomely the same.
This book is wonderfully unique, and completely without filler. Only words that have to be there are there. To a large extent it is about hunting, so be careful if you are sensitive here, but it is more a book of man's ability to overcome problems when someone's life is on the line or when it is a question of personal survival.

Jack Reacher hits the pavement and sticks out his thumb. He plans to follow the sun on an epic trip across America, from Maine to California. He doesn’t get far. On a country road deep in the New England woods, he sees a sign to a place he has never been: the town where his father was born. He thinks, What’s one extra day? He takes the detour.

Scott brick is sooo wrong for this!!!
Revisado: 11-11-18
I like Scott Brick, he's a fantastic voice artist, but sooo wrong for this. Where is Dick Hill? I tried for six chapters, but I'm going to put this on the shelf, unread, in hopes that there will be a Dick Hill version down the road. Aghh, i was so excited that there would be another Reacher book... Something about Dick Hill's fatalistic 'the road went left, and it went right' narration that summarized so well Reacher's world view.

Historia
After 9/11, the United States made one of the most secretive and dangerous deals in its history. The evidence against the powerful Saudis who coordinated the attack would be buried. In return, King Faisal would promise to keep the oil flowing and deal with the conspirators in his midst. When the king's own nephew is discovered funding ISIS, the president suspects that the Saudis never intended to live up to their agreement.

another coming of age... cringe
Revisado: 06-07-17
Maybe I've read to much, but i can't endure another: poor boy in rich kids school, everybody is mean to him because he's not rich, not rich because his parents are fighting the good fight (lawyers for trees and whales), a girl with a heart of gold, etc. Maybe it turns into a good story if you can get past the beginning and being written to as if an idiot. I can't, so i bailed after less than an hour.

Historia
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Didn't finish
Revisado: 05-09-17
Kind of boring. The beginning was okay, about the early family life, but the rise to fame was poorly described/written. You would at least parts of the rise would be exciting, but the book went into technical songwriting details that weren't. To me. After that, which was the middle part, i bailed and moved onto more interesting books. Maybe the last third is good.

But there are forces more lethal than Gentry in the world. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness. Now, he is going to prove that for him, there's no gray area between killing for a living-and killing to stay alive.

ridiculous
Revisado: 03-10-17
Story was completely unbelievable: evil African Prince, British spy master's betrayal for the 'lil childrens', shaking off mortal wounds, to the bad guys from all over the earth dropping everything to get on the gray man murder train, wow. i liked Greaney's Tom Clancy book, but this is the height of stupid.

Historia
In the autumn of 1938, Germany's reichsführer, Heinrich Himmler, is growing frustrated at the British using their regional power in India to block the passage of an SS expedition to Tibet. Determined to spite them, he plots to steal something the British hold dear and have failed for the seventh time that spring to achieve: a first summit of Mount Everest. Seventy years later, seasoned mountain guide Neil Quinn's ninth visit to the top of the world's highest mountain, this time in charge of the 16-year-old son of a Long Island billionaire, begins to unravel.

An Uncommon Adventure
Revisado: 02-04-17
I am an original Audible member with well over 1,000 titles, and this book makes me remember why i am still here. A truly original story with heart, excitement, conflict, good over evil... In my top ten of everything in Audible's library.
Thriller, historical fiction, a glimpse into the technical and social world of the Alpine elite, even a love story, this book rises so far above the best of the norm that i feel privileged to have had the opportunity to read it. Over the upcoming years, it will be experienced by many, but I will look back on my intense few weeks with Mr Farthing's Summit as a fond personal memory. Thanks.

Another Author Sells Out
Revisado: 11-27-16
When an author doesn't have a book inside him, these days they just crank one out anyway. Pandering to us the feeble minded, this book seems to have been written from an afternoon meeting's flowchart, where the staff sits in front of a whiteboard throwing out scenarios and connecting them with criss crossing arrows. Then, phone camera to capture the masterpiece, and the interns write enough words for the correct book thickness. Oh, and the elaborate dramatization of the narration and the breathy hurt puppy portal of Puller only add to the feeling of being 'used'. Haha, thanks chumps, cash the check.

Historia
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

Historia
It’s 2011, and Samuel Andresen-Anderson—college professor, stalled writer—has a Nix of his own: his mother, Faye. He hasn’t seen her in decades, not since she abandoned the family when he was a boy. Now she’s re-appeared, having committed an absurd crime that electrifies the nightly news, beguiles the internet, and inflames a politically divided country. The media paints Faye as a radical hippie with a sordid past, but as far as Samuel knows, his mother was an ordinary girl who married her high-school sweetheart.
