They were just kids when they stumbled upon the horror of their hometown. Now, as adults, none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them all back to Derry, Maine, to face the nightmare without end, and the evil without a name.

Great narrator
Revisado: 08-24-16
The story itself is wonderful with a mixture of emotions and many characters . Which makes the narrator's all the more important. This one was fabulous .

Historia
An unflinching look at the aspiring city-builders of our smart, mobile, connected future. We live in a world defined by urbanization and digital ubiquity, where mobile broadband connections outnumber fixed ones, machines dominate a new "internet of things," and more people live in cities than in the countryside.

A must read for city enthusiasts
Revisado: 11-17-15
If there is one book that people interested in urban development and urban issues must read, it is this. It goes beyond a discussion of the promise of smart cities and discusses the import an basis in it's past, the players who have studied it over the decades, and the organizations thinking about how to make it work for everyone. I loved this book.

I actually like the narrator!
Revisado: 01-18-13
Would you listen to Shogun again? Why?
Yes. I kept looking for reasons to listen to it, so it provided me incentive to walk home rather than take the El train!
What did you like best about this story?
Great characters, great insights into the historical dynamics of the complex relationships between nations at the time.
What about David Case’s performance did you like?
I have to respectfully disagree with my fellow reviewers. I have heard this narrator before (might have been Quo Vadis?), and his varied accents actually helped me keep the numerous characters straight. I realize that the accents may not 100% reflect the nuances of the home languages, but that is kind of why I like it. It is accessible to me.
