Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Poignant and beautifully written
Revisado: 11-22-23
Stories of the horror of WW2 are moving. This book gives you the story of a few people, ordinary teens during an extremely difficult war. It reminds us that there were innocent people caught up in the bloodshed on both sides of the war. The people in power start the wars but the innocent children and families are left to deal with the pain.
This is a reminder that peace can be found even in the worst of times. Let’s find that peace before the wars begin.

Good book - interesting outlook
Revisado: 09-21-23
The boys ok was well written and the perforce was on target with the mood of the book.
The topic raised in the book - reincarnation- is an interesting one. I thought bringing different religious perspectives gave the topic a well rounded story.

Historia
On the way to hurricane-ravaged Isle of Palms, a barrier island off the South Carolina coast, Tempe receives a call from the Charleston coroner. The storm has tossed ashore a medical waste container. Inside are two decomposed bodies wrapped in plastic and bound with electrical wire. Tempe recognizes many of the details as identical to those of an unsolved case she handled in Quebec 15 years earlier. With a growing sense of foreboding, she travels to Montreal to gather evidence. Meanwhile, health authorities in South Carolina become alarmed as a human flesh-eating contagion spreads.

Revisado: 07-15-21
Kathy - You did it again. Amidst all of the events of the last couple years, you have managed to knock another one out of the park.
The idea that Tempe attempts to set the past to rights is a brilliant twist. Thanks for keeping me on the edge of my seat. Keep up the amazing work. We would be lost without you.

Wow! Powerful story of love and survival
Revisado: 05-16-21
I do not usually write reviews for books. I enjoy my experience in living the story being told. This one, however, truly has something every one can relate to in one way or another so I will share my thoughts.
This story is about the life of a girl learning what love is and learning what it takes to survive. It describes some of the major issues of the time and the differences between lifestyles in one city to another. If you want to laugh, read this book. If you want to cry, read this book. If you want to be inspired to find your happy place, read this book. If you need to learn what it means to survive, read this book. It has it all. It is life; brutal, beautiful, painful, and hopeful. There will be parts of this story that will stay with you forever shaping your future even if it plays a minor part.
Love is beautiful, abuse is horrible.
Mental illness is a constant struggle for those experiencing it and for all those surrounding them.
Devastation happens in the blink of an eye; it is one more challenge to help you grow.
Hope is necessary to deal with the struggles you are facing.

Historia
It’s sweltering in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Temperance Brennan, still recovering from neurosurgery following an aneurysm, is battling nightmares, migraines, and what she thinks might be hallucinations when she receives a series of mysterious text messages, each containing a new picture of a corpse that is missing its face and hands. Immediately, she’s anxious to know who the dead man is, and why the images were sent to her. An identified corpse soon turns up, only partly answering her questions.

Thank you for this gift
Revisado: 04-18-21
Karen’s books are always inspiring. This is not the first time I have read this book. It is always like the first time though. Christ’s love shines through these books. This one makes you think about all the stories in your life. Whether it be your love story, that of a family member or friend... or just the random encounter with a stranger that changed your life forever. Remember. Hang on to those memories. God is good

Historia
"Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes. A do-over. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

Finally a book about a midlife woman! The book was really good. I laughed at all of the experiences midlife folks deal with. The action in the book was on par as well.

Action packed and all Julie
Revisado: 02-12-21
I have been a fan of Julie’s books since I first was introduced to the Iron King book years ago. She still has her touch even after all these years.
This book is filled with action, love, and that ever present conflict between good and evil. Though this evil is both outside in the world and an internal battle.
Great job as always.

Gripping and beautiful love story
Revisado: 02-10-21
A love that transcends time... wow, does this book have it! I am huge fan of time travel romances and this one has far exceeded my expectations. It is a slight twist from the normal she/he travels to a different place and Boom! They now have a new world to live in, they immediately fall in love and someone makes a choice to stay or go. This one is so much better for the uniqueness of the plot.
Excellent character development. The characters are so alive and relatable because they experience real emotions, real pains, and real struggles and they are not your normal platitudes.
I have listened to 2 of Kim’s books now. I want more!

Powerful Conclusion
Revisado: 02-08-21
I was worried that the sequel to Silence wouldn’t move me as much as the original but I worried for nothing.
Spoiler- Why no proposal? Cole had plenty of perfect moments to do so.
