Historia
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

I missed some turns driving into Atlanta during rush hour. I got to finish the book though, so it was an enjoyable experience. Life's going to suck a little bit, but not for the most part. Chill out and learn to enjoy it. She has great insights for doing that.

Historia
In his most provocative and practical book yet, one of the foremost thinkers of our time redefines what it means to understand the world, succeed in a profession, contribute to a fair and just society, detect nonsense, and influence others. Citing examples ranging from Hammurabi to Seneca, Antaeus the Giant to Donald Trump, Nassim Nicholas Taleb shows how the willingness to accept one's own risks is an essential attribute of heroes, saints, and flourishing people in all walks of life.

Historia
No other topic dominates our attention as much as coronavirus and COVID-19, the infectious disease it triggers. There’s been a global deluge of contradictory opinions, fake news, and politically controlled information. Differing views on the dangers posed by the pandemic have led to deep division and confusion, within governments, society, and even among friends and family. In Corona, False Alarm?, award-winning researchers Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi and Dr. Karina Reiss give clarity to these confusing and stressful times.

Speculation
Revisado: 02-23-21
The title of this book is speculation. The self-evident conclusions are speculation.
My respect to the author for providing a counter argument.
My thoughts are philosophical in nature.
If a person is sick and sneezes on you, would you have perhaps prefered they were wearing a mask?
If you go to the doctor and the doctor tells you there is a pill recommended by other doctors and is also recommend by the government that they feel may save your life from a dangerous infection but admits that it may also do nothing. Would you take the pill?
If the doctor told you that by taking it, It may help prevent you from endangering your loved ones from infection because it's possible to be Asymptomatic, Would you take the pill?
I will be wearing my n95 for the sake of my family and neighbors.
I will be getting the vacation as soon as it is available to me.
I disagree with this publication strongly on nearly every conclusion.
I also do not believe the doctor is ignorant in medicine, just in understanding the nature of risk, which is by definition in life, not on paper, and is unknowable.
Again my respects, I will keep an open mind as more information becomes available over time and in the meantime will act on the side of utmost caution, as the price of being wrong is not something I want to live with.

Fundamental is a comprehensive beginner's guide to quantum mechanics, explaining not only the weirdness of the subject but the experiments that proved it to be true. Using a humorous and light-hearted approach, Fundamental tells the story of how the most brilliant minds in science grappled with seemingly impossible ideas and gave us everything from microchips to particle accelerators.

Brilliant!
Revisado: 11-10-20
I have listened to and enjoyed many books that attempt to tackle the complexity of this topic and it not a easy task by any means.
It is easy to underappreciated the complexity of trying to translates the language of quantum mechanics to someone who is new to the idea.
So often these types of books tend to over simplify, miss the point, go off on a nonsensical tangent that tends to become background noise after the third syllable, get it wrong entirely (probably), be bias, or worst of all, have a terrible nariator with a voice that unfortunately never graduated High school or is so mono tone, you listen to it to help you fall asleep at night.
And on that Note,
The performance was amazing!
Few books are as engaging and passionate as Tim James when he is speaking about what he loves and he managed to talk about a topic that doesn't make any sense whatsoever and proceed to convey the problem with such clarity that you can finally understand and appreciate the full scale of the mind F that it is.
Thank you Tim James! If you are reading this, I really Truly appreciated your book and look forward to listening to your work in the future. 15/10 Will definitely recommend to everyone in many divergent universes, including this one.

Historia
Drawing from her work as a psychoanalyst and cantadora (keeper of old stories), Dr. Estes uses myths and folktales to illustrate how societies systematically strip away the feminine spirit. Through an exploration into the nature of the wild woman archetype, Dr. Estes helps listeners rediscover and free their own wild nature.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.
