I couldn't add this book to my Goodreads because it wasn't a book to me. I am blind and when I watch a TV show or movie, there are audio descriptions telling me about the action etc. I much prefer books si audio description is great, but it can leave a lot to be desired. This was the best of both audiobook and TV worlds and I'm so glad I heard about it on an audible podcast and then got an email when season two came out. Just finished season one and will begin season two tomorrow! Tremendous work! I rarely leave reviews if that tells you how impressed I am by this audio work of art!

It was hard for me to stick with the characters, since I didn't like any of them! But I held on, and I'm so glad I did! The writing is beautiful and my emotions were yanked this way and that. I look forward to listening to more books by this author! The narration was excellent.

MacLeod Andrews is the only good narrator. Bad narration can't cover the plot holes, but I still enjoy escaping to these books.

This narrator, oh man. She sounds like she's reading out loud in English class. I remember not liking her with the first book, but the first book was so engaging that I could ignore the bad performance.

I was so excited for this book. But in my opinion, it didn't live up to the first one. The last half was better for sure, but by that point, I was so bored and sick of the narrator, that I just wanted the book to be over.

If you loved the first book like I did, get the print version of this one. I almost switched to Kindle, but I'm blind, and the robot voice would have butchered so many names.

I bought this when it was a daily deal and the publisher's summary caught my attention. I love historical fiction and immediately told a friend about it and he went and got it too. We listened together and neither one of us could get through it.

Based on the reviews I read I was expecting a good job of narrating from the author though most authors make terrible narrators. I guess my friend and I are just picky. We both said it was like listening to someone read the phone book.

I don't know if the narration just distracted me from the story or what but I couldn't follow it. It bounced all over the place like a cat playing with a lazer light.

The production was terrible, some chapters louder than others, some clear and some garbled. This reminded me of way back when I tried a free audio book read by a volunteer. It was that experience that made me sign up for Audible since I'm blind and rely on audio books.

I just don't get the good reviews on this. I really don't. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled on this one. If you like good narration, just be prepared that this one is lacking. I sped up the narrating trying to get through it but I fell asleep with an hour and a half to go last night and I'm not gonna bother finishing.

I wasn't sure Deadly Coast could live up to its big brother Deadly Straits but I was happy to find it did. The beginning was a bit slower to start than the first book but once it did, it kept rolling right along. Deadly Coast was rather terrifying since I couldn't help but think about the real pirates out there on our seas. Stay tuned at the end for some excellent history lessons and information on pirates.

This book had a bit of an X-Files feel to it for me, due to the underlying possible terrorist plot involved. Nothing paranormal, more along the lines of conspiracy. I recently listened to an audio book about Area 51 so the truths in this book were all too scary. I loved it! I was so sad when it was over and I had no more Dugan to read.

If you liked Deadly Straits, you simply can't miss this one. We've gotta get the word out about R. E. McDermott!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had a little bit of everything: espionage, intrigue, comedy, , likable characters, insane freaking terrorists and best of all, heart pounding action. Can audio books be described as page turners?

I loved the narration too. I listen to A LOT of audio books and the narration can break a book. Todd did a fantastic job with all the dialogue and all the accents he had to do.

This is my first review on Audible even though I've been a member for well over a year. McDermott is self published so I wanted to be sure and give my support. I can't wait to start "Deadly Coast" today!

I haven't listened to too many books in this genre, the only other one I can think of being "The Hunt for Red October" and I enjoyed "Deadly Straits" much much more. The narration especially was a thousand times better.

The volume fluctuated quite a bit at times I noticed in the production of this audio book so if you're using headphones, just be careful. Aside from that, this book is well worth the credit! Go get it! Oh and stay tuned after the book is over for a special treat.
